Did they draw already? If this is how it turned out, then it is almost how I would have seeded them. HC beat Holmes and Latin, Holmes beat Latin........

So it would be HC vs Latin CCH vs Holmes Winners play and both move one.

Holy cross has yet to play Latin, and why would it matter if they play or not when Cov Cath doesn't play any of them. I know it would do nothing for Cov Cath but if I were a coach of one of the teams in the district I'd want to play them for seeding. We all know that Cov Cath is the all mighty in that district, winning it EVERY year, but what about this is fair to the other teams?

This district doesn't seem fair. Covington Catholic hasn't played a district game but they get the one seed? Doesn't make sense. Then Latin hasn't played HC. The only team that played HC and Latin both is Holmes. & if I am correct Holmes has CCH scheduled earlier this season but didn't get to play it. I'm not sure how this will work but it looks like CovCath is getting a free ticket for the first round.

If I was a coach I would be furious because CovCath doesn't play for the one seed it is just handed to them. In my eyes that's unfair.

All District games for seeding are supposed to be complete by end of day Wednesday. With that said, by a majority vote of schools each District may stipulate as to where in Bracket teams are placed. District #35 doesn't have a District seeding plan posted on KHSAA so who knows. The default for an unseeded 4 team District is random draw. It may not make a difference for CCH, but I'd think that at least Holmes and Latin would favor a random draw.

CovCath could be the #4 seed, and run away with this District. Doesn't matter what their seed is.

Much ado about nothing.

Your right they could run away with the district title

The problem is that they don't play anyone in the district, why is that fair?

I'm assuming that there is an agreement between coaches in the district stating they don't have to play? In Lexington each district team plays twice a home and away game. That's how it should be everywhere.

Each team is limited in total number of games they are allowed to play. If "forced" to play 3 District games, where the outcome is already known (including by the respective coaches .. no disrespect intended .. just stating the obvious), that eliminates 3 quality games that CCH now plays, which better prepares them for Regional and State tournaments. Again, no disrespect intended, but what is gained from a CC/Latin regular season game?
