The call was that Skinner through the ball of the PC player's foot..... ball to Clark County.

I feel that this game was one of the most intense one's that I have seen in quite some time, the best team won last night. Coach Humphrey had a simple game plan, continue to at every stoppage run in players. He must have gone eight deep on the bench, this gave him the opportunity to continually put alot of pressure on the ball at all times regardless of the fouls. He was able to give his main 5 alot of rest throughout the game, yet play them when it was critical. I have not seen a team sub that much since probably 5-6 yrs. ago with UK when they had such a deep bench. It's not that the Clark bench was much of a scoring threat, but they could afford to give up the fouls. And by going so strong at PC they created alot of pressure fouls. Also, Clark crashed the boards very strong last night. They absolutely controlled their offensive area. PC had their op's but failed to capitalize on the moment. I thought when PC tied the game that they would be OK, but, that's when Knowles took control and the PC boys did not necessarily make some good decisions with the ball and their shots. Some were forced and probably not the best shots that Coach Biggs had in mind.

I have one ?, just because I could not really see the play, On the opening tip when the ball went towards the Clark bench with a Clark player having possession, when the player appeared to fall out of bounds with the ball and there was no foul called, what was the call when the ball was given to Clark. Just a question not a complaint.

Tonight's game shoud be a dandy!! In light of what I witnessed last night, I'll have to go with Clark Co. They are on a mission and playing very well right now. Regardless either one MC or CC will be a very good representative for the 10th and hopefully do us proud.

 

I have stated before that I thought that the GRC bench would play a big factor on the outcome of our games and how well they were coming along. We had Freshman and Sophomores coming off the bench and doing great. Timmy Davis scored a huge basket underneath ..he is a shophomore. Freshman Robert Hatton also did well.

I do think the Cards are on a mission...play smart guys ..you have come far... and hopefully still more to come.:thumb:

Pendleton played there hearts out to keep it close, but Pat Elliott and Tyler Maines on the bench for a good portion of the 3rd quarter with foul trouble didn't help their cause any.

 

The two out with fouls did not help, but I thought Jon Elrod stepped up and keep things together. Even with the two out, they did not blow out a big lead on the cats.

 

I think missed free throws, lack of rebounding, and missed layups was the begining of the end. I have watched this team for many years. They have a very good first half, but normally the third quarter is where they start to shine. Last night they did not have their normal 3rd quarter. Tough loss for the cats, but good luck to the Cards.

Good game for the Cards. The Wildcats were not performing as good as they are capable of. Preston Knowles showed up to play and he gave an amazing show. Elrod was ready to play as well, but he did not have enough support from other team mates. The Wildcats had a couple of great oppurtunities to take the lead but couple of missed free throws and lay-ups killed the Wildcats. Good Luck to the Cards and the Royals.

Pendleton County was 57-9 during the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons. They were also 34-3 in the 10th Region during the two years. Clark County just had to be one of the three teams to beat them on one of the worst nights that it could happen. Congrats to Pendleton County for a great two year ride. Hopefully they can keep it up next season as well.

 

As for GRC, a remarkable win. We'll see if they can win their first title since 1990. Congrats to Coach Humphrey and good luck in the finals.

Pendleton County played four games in the post-season. They went from playing Harrison County to playing Deming and Augusta(two well below .500 teams) to playing 22-8 Clark County. This might have lowered the level of play for the Wildcats in the GRC game.
