Keith Taylor of the Winchester Sun reports Senior Sandra Skinner has committed to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

She is a tremendous young woman! Congratulations to her and her family!

 

Was just getting ready to post this. She is a great young lady on and off the court and in the classroom. They are getting a great one. Thrilled for her and her family.

[h=1]Sandra Skinner: Virginia Commonwealth felt like 'second home'[/h]

Skinner committed to Virginia Commonwealth University Monday, choosing the Rams over Bowling Green, Ohio University, Western Kentucky, East Tennessee State and Marshall. Skinner visited Virginia on Aug. 20 and was impressed with the program.

 

 

Skinner, a senior, averaged 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last season. She scored 16 points per outing during the KHSAA Girls Sweet Sixteen. During the team’s three games in the prestigious tournament, Skinner made 76 percent of her field goals and was successful on 19 of 25 attempts from the field. Skinner tallied 25 points in a 79-70 win over Corbin in the opening round of the tournament.

 

Skinner was a member of the Kentucky-Indiana Junior All-Star team and helped lead the Lady Cardinals to a 28-7 record .Skinner, who also plays volleyball and track and field at Clark, will just compete in basketball at VCU.
