Little off topic, but.... why is it cow days? Understand Lincoln days in Hodgenville and the bourbon festival in Bardstown...but what's with the cow? Option...can you enlighten me on the history on the festival?

Horse, so your telling me that Coach Griff gave up his best group of talent with 10 starters on defense and 8 starter on Offense returning to someone to lose with? I checked with a former Middle School Coach and it was (6) Davis, Brewer, Sears, Bro Matney, Pierce, and Bridgewater. And on Jaggers, what is meant is no coach would have given him an opportunity as a Freshman or Sophomore.

You can disagree coach, but how many of those kids moved away that we're on that team?? Several. Look at the track program this coming season, and the fact that Hodge resigned, coaches don't get out when there is talent and I will be proven right this spring. Not the first time the former ball coach got out when there was a dip in talent, when talent goes back up in a few years see if he comes back. That isn't a secret in the 5th region, have heard that on several occasions. Those aren't coincidences. Not just at green. Brown at John Hardin, Armes at LaRue...etc. just part of it. Now Brown is back coaching at Etown...didnt retire long. I will also add that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, probably a smart move and every guy has the right not to suffer through tough years if he doesn't want to. Middle school all star games mean zilch...especially when several of the coaches were green co. coaches. I had several kids play on that team and they were not my best players, but could afford to go. Talent does change at small county schools to say differently is a homer mentality and a way for the former coach to stroke his ego. Jagger's was a stud...he would have started at 100 schools in the state to say different is to say that a 4.5 40 yd dash isn't welcome in other schools. Speed is a commodity that is not at green and isn't going to be there for a while. But enough about Green. Campbellsville is on an upswing and the Young kid is a stud and sought after by D1 schools with charlie strong stopping before he left for Texas. Locally nobody has a kid like him...nobody. Did they appeal the KHSAA to see if he could play? I hope to be able to see him play next week if I'm able to get down that way.

The point here is that Green has owned Cville high school football over past 6-8 years. Games haven't even been close. But I've seen both teams play and I feel like Cville will return the favor to green co Friday night. Cville has lots of young talent and a senior class that will be tough to replace. Brewer is a good tough RB but I don't think he has played against a team like Cville yet. This game will be hard hitting and psychical. Can brewer stand that for 4 qtrs. I think he can he's a tough kid. Will Green co size wear down Cville?? Will losing their star player kill cville?? Has the tide turned in this area and Cville worked to get back on top?? Will things continue and green dominate cville?? Can Cville win a game away from Cville, this is their first true road game??? Who's the better coached team? Who's in better shape? Just wanted to throw this out there. Cville has not won at Dragon stadium since Sept 16, 2004 under then head coach Coach Wiseman (who is now the OC at Cville )That was last time they won there. It was a 26-0 Cville win. So to say it's tough to win in Green co is a understatement. Tonight will show if the Eagles have closed the gap and if they are headed back in the right direction. Huge game for both programs. This is a must see game tonight. Be very interesting to see how Cville responds with out their best player. Also heard they have a few other key players out for tonight. All this talk about how Cville is so much different then past few years I guess the world will find out tonight as they will have to play their best game to date!

Discipline!Discipline!Discipline!, getting thrown out of a game when you are ahead 36-0 is not the players fault. This arrogance will cost the Eagles big in this game and others to come. Personally I think Campbellsville has huge potential and always has had. They have always destroyed Green in Middle School - Bridgewater, Downs, Bryson Taylor you name it and I mean by 38+ points, but Green has always had the edge in High School. I will not make any insinuations, but the fact is that Campbellsville has always had more talent. The MTV Game sticks out in my mind. C-Ville beat Green the year before about 56 points and the next year Green beat Campbellsville that virtually had the same team. I am tired of the excuse being made if we should coulda woulda.

 

If you are an Eagle fan that knows about CKMSAC (middle school) football, then you already know that Green County Middle School has been the dominate team in the conference the past 10-15 years. Other than last year, the middle school Dragons had a winning record every year, made the playoffs every year, and won a sackful of trophies during that time. No other conference team did that. Of those conference teams, some came and went - including the Eagles - but only the GCMS (and GCHS varsity) both consistently maintained winning records every year. Tonight: GCHS 20 and C-ville 14.
