I was told it was not likely that game (cooper) would be made up. Holmes game might be because it is a district game. More doubtful the elder game will be made up.

 

I will be surprised if they do, I think that finding an open date would be an issue. I think that Cooper plays 3 matches each week all the way through the first week of October.

The "Battle of Union" was played the day after the Cooper/CCH soccer match, the field needed to look good for TV.

 

The match being called did not go over well, I am aware of more than a few parents questioning this decision.

You seem a little obsessed with CCH's district schedule. CCH has no desire to play Holmes but may need to do so for district seeding purposes. I'm quite certain that they'd prefer to make up the other games instead.

No, not at all. it's just the first district game CCH has played in two seasons to my knowledge. According to Oldtime in a another thread, it was only being played as a courtesy to Holmes in the first place. I just thought they would be more inclined to try and reschedule Cooper since they "backed out" of the game earlier and all.... seeding purposes?... C'MON MAN!

You're not obsessed yet you know how many district games CCH has played the last few years? Why would you care or why would anyone care? If Holmes, Latin or Holy Cross want to play I'm pretty sure CCH accommodates them. Backed out of what game?

It's been my experience few club games called for rain/wet fields. Especially tournaments. Many rec games are cancelled. I guess HS is more like rec.

 

Every NKSA team practiced last night, and aside from being a little muggy, it was sunny and beautiful.

 

The Elder facilities are on the side of the hill (obviously level fields, but you get the gist), so all I can think of is they got a ton of rain and the fields were swamped.

 

Yellow Card, according to google it is right at a mile to their facilities on Quebec, I guess it is all of the stop-lights that make it seem longer to me. :bunny:

I guess that was the purpose of that post but it's fairly well known that CCH will play just about anyone who wants a game in just about any sport. Let's hope we get the McNick game in with 90 degree temps forecast for tomorrow.

Maybe you've lost count, because it never happened. Most references to Cooper's schedule were as a direct comparison to CCH after their strength of schedule was questioned by what appeared to be Cooper fans.

I am of the belief that there is a BIG difference between Cooper cancelling a match due to weather (right or wrong)... and being accused of backing out of one.
