It was indeed. Looks as if Montgomery County got tired and Bourbon ran away with it. Montgomery has some talent!

Bourbon is going to need some adjustment time. They have possibly the best player in 3A in Holman and a lot of very talented transfers to go along with some additional returning skill.... but by and large this is a team with major losses from last year that were fortunate to get some talented transfers to offset that loss.

 

It is going to take some time to steel their cohesion, but make no mistake about it Bourbon may very well be the most talented team in 3A.

 

Montgomery County is going to have a nice team as well. They were 7-4 last year and returned nearly everyone and absolutely unloaded on Somerset in their scrimmage.

 

My biggest question/concern with Bourbon this year is:

- Can they develop a dominant receiver to replace Johnson and a dominant guy across the middle to replace Hilander?

- Will the line be able to hold up? They lost I think 3 Starters there... that's a big adjustment

- Who replaces Mitchell? That kid was the soul of their defense and saved their bacon with the fact he was everywhere
