Simon Kenton Notebook Week 0

Featured Replies

BGP #9 SK got their scrimmage under their belt. It turned out to be a pretty good game. SK manned up and played X tough. SK QB Cameron Racke got his first varsity start and he played pretty good against a great defense. A lot of people are saying X didn't look like a good team but X is still X well coached and great players. SK was with out linebacker Barry Deaton hopefully he is in the line up this week. Linebacker Chris Hicks, Eric Carter played very good. SK has a very good defense this year. The D-line gave X all kinds of problems. SK has some new DBs but they all played pretty good. SK moved the ball very good against X mixing the run and pass.

BGP#9 SK now prepares for BGP #5 Collins it should be a great game this Friday. I look for SK to mix the run with the pass. Dillon Powell will probably get a bunch of carries he looks alot stronger this year. He should have a great year. Cameron Racke will be try to get his first win at QB he has a good arm and can also run. Wide receivers Logan Winkler, Kyle Heflin, Logan Scott and Logan Kreidenweis should all be ready to catch a lot of passes this season. The O-lone is very big with Olmstead at 300 plus pounds, Vercheak at 260, Sandlin at 280, Rump at 224. Not sure who will be the other starter but it will probably be Dixie transfer Taeylor Enzweiler at 245 pounds or Stewart at 242 pounds. Cole Murray will start at tight end.

Defensively Marksberry will start at NT, Powell 235 pounds and Mueller 260 pounds will start at the ends. Eric Carter, Hicks. Gowen, Holtcamp, Brian Carter, Cornett, Rider, Finnell and hopefully Deaton will be the linebackers not sure which 5 will start but they can all play very physical. At DB SK will have Shane Depaolo, Taylor Galbraith, Trent Kincaid, Jacob Book, Michael Noble, Jacob Harney all battling for playing time.

On special teams SK has Vercheak punting the ball and Carmony kicking both should have good years. Returning punts and kickoffs will be Winkler and Powell both can bring one back every time they touch the ball.

For those who think this is a rebuilding year you will be disappointed SK is ready to make some noise in 6A and try to get their first state title. Pioneer Nation the first game is friday get your blue and white on and watch SK have a great season!

I didn't see any of the Simon Kenton players listed in the top 40 players, what gives? It's probably a conspiracy against Simon Kenton and Highlands! Lol!

I don't care what are writer from Louisville says.

You should care because those are the scholarships the Sk kids are missing out on. You make them look bad with all your bragging , embellishment , hype, ....whatever you want to call it. Let's face it, without the next level attention the Sk athletes are no better than any other and there is nothing wrong with that. Truth hurts. Lol!

I think SK should be teaching their students and former students how to write instead of worrying about football.

Couldn't have said it better. A thesaurus is your friend.

Great insight uk#1fan. Only problem, it was exhausting to read. Good luck to SK this year. Hope they can finally break through. I would like to see Highlands add another State Champion to their schedule for next year.

It is quite possible that this teams Sr. class will have no D1 offers. However, this team will beat teams that have multiple D1 players and will end up with 8 - 11 wins this season. I believe this looks favorably on the coaching and player development.

Poll was coaches and recruiting services, not his opinion.

Every non district game is with a team from a smaller class, including two Class AA teams. 8 wins is the minimum they should have and it says everything about the coaching, just not what you think.

Really I know some SK players are getting recruited.

When there is a class 7a, let us know!

Did you figure this out all by your self? I am pretty sure CovCath and Highlands will be on the schedule next year.

Lol! Key words there my friend! "next year". Just throwing it out there but I'm guessing he is talking about this year's team.
