Top 10 Players and Top 10 Teams in the 12th Region

Featured Replies

Tell what you guys think.

Players:

Hagen Tyler-Boyle County

Jeremiah Bell-Boyle County

Timmy Taylor-Lincoln County

Ronnie Carson-East Jessamine

Will Hager-Mercer County

Trevor Blevins-Wayne County

Corey Stearns-Wayne County

Peyton Woods-Wayne County

Jacob Conway-Lincoln County

Teams:

Boyle County

Southwestern

Wayne County

Lincoln County

Somerset

Pulaski County

Casey County

Danville

East Jessamine

West Jessamine

Team rankings:

Wayne is still my #1 as there are too many unknowns for both Boyle and Southwest. That said, I believe those 3 teams will likely be in a class by themselves, duking it out to get to Rupp.

I think Lincoln is now a solid 4th. Assuming East returns everyone, and with the addition of the transfer from West, I'd have to put them at a solid fifth place. After that, I think Mercer, West (lost 2 kids to transfers) and Danville - again based on what I've seen this summer.

I don't think that Casey is on par with those last 3 teams.

To be fair, I haven't seen anything of Pulaski or Somerset. Pulaski will be a very different team and their fate will probably depend on the quality of their slew of transfers. Lastly, I thought Somerset lost some quality talent, including a top 10 regional performer. Can someone shed some lighton whom they have returning and where they should be ranked?

Player rankings:

I think Tyler is #1. I don't know enough about Bell to rate him above players #3-5. I'd probably go with Carson as #2. Then, I have trouble differentiating between Bell, Taylor and Hager as they are each good at the at what they do and all 3 are very different players.

#6 - Conway

#7 - Woods

#8 - Stearns

#9 - Blevins

#10 - Woolridge & Elkins (tie)

Players to watch:

Southwestern - 6'8" transfer and incoming frosh Fitzgerald

West Jess - Ely and Holifield

East Jess - Cam Jones

Mercer - Faulkner and Davis

Casey - Miller and Smith

As the year progresses, I expect Cam Jones, Brooks Ely and Trevon Faulkner to makes strong cases for top 10 status. I also expect Elkins to make more of a statement this year.

Totally forgot about Mercer County. Don't know how. :lol2:

I'd have Mercer just as good as if not better than Danville.

Bell is either the best player or second best player in the 12th. He and Tyler are #1 and #2 with no preference to who is first. Tyler could average 30 points a game with Bell at the point.

Bell is that good though.

Cam Jones is top 10 worthy.

Who did West Jessamine pick up? West Jessamine has a sophomore I think is named Isaiah who is or will be a stud. Love that kid.

Somerset has some youth that is very very good. Not sure how that will translate into this season but down the road they will have talent if they stay at Somerset.

Wayne has to replace Perkins and that could prove to be a tough task. For all we know there are 3 unknowns with Boyle, Southwestern and Wayne and Lincoln County returns pretty much everyone.

I'm not aware of West picking up a transfer. I was saying that West lost two players due to transfers. Jackson (forward) left West for East. He seemed to stay in the dog house at West but has a lot of potential. And Fleanor, who would've likely been their starting PG, went with his father to Murray.

West's coach is one of the best in the 12th. They almost always are better than anticipated. And Ely is a very nice player - better than most realize.

My top 10 players:

HAGEN TYLER: Boyle Co

Jeremiah Bell: Boyle Co

Ronnie Carson: East Jess

PEYTON Woods: Wayne Co

Timmy Taylor: Lincoln Co

Jacob Conway: Lincoln Co

Corey Stearns: Wayne Co

COLTON Elkins: Boyle Co

Will Hager: Mercer Co

Trevor Blevins: Wayne Co

Wayne Co has to be considered preseason #1 and the favorite until they are knocked off. BOYLE Co and Lincoln Co will be really really good. Should be an exciting season in the 12th region

I believe Casey County will be better than expected after watching them this summer. They have added a transfer and some height in the inside. Miller and Smith have looked great so far in summer ball and AAU this offseason. I believe its a 2 headed race between PC and Casey for district title. Miller and Smith both play on their coaches AAU organization TEAM MANIMAL.

From what I've seen it's going to be a very strong 12th region.

Southwestern

Wayne

Boyle

Lincoln

Top 4. But they only represent two districts so there's two losers coming into the regional tournament..

SW has added Gover and Adeymo (sp) lost Edwards. Will that be enough for them to surpass Wayne?

Certainly wouldn't be surprised to see the exact final four as last year. Although there's more talent and capable teams across the board this yr that could say otherwise.

Gonna be an exciting year in the 12th.

Few notable SR's:

Sean Ross SR (Pulaski), Adam Isaacs SR (SW), Dylan Gaskins SR (SW)

** It's "Trey Blevins" not Trevor Blevins as well **

AS i write/read this thread there's the realization of the young/veteran talent across the board this yr.

I hate I messed that up. I know a Trevor Blevins and got all kinds of messed up when making my list.
