June 16, 201412 yr Not everyone can dunk. Anyone can shoot a jumper, fade away, sky hook or use the glass. I think I disagree. I'd say most in NBA can dunk, or at least should be able. We'll agree to disagree here. Dunks just don't impress me. Having a guy smothering you on D and you take him off a dribble on a jump shot in his face, I like that. However PP92, I'm just a casual watcher of the NBA any more. Haven't really been that interested since the Bird/Magic days. Really watched a ton back in the Frazier, Reed, Monroe, Debusschere, Phil Jackson days. So you're way more in tune with it than I am. The older I get the more I live in the past...........but it was great back then!

I love a good crossover and step back jumper in the face. That's not considered pure basketball though.

The older I get the more I live in the past...........but it was great back then! I think the quality of the game was better back then but today's athletes are phenomenal.

But IMO any dude thats 6'2 6'3 that can jump a lick can dunk . Dunking takes ZERO skill . Surely you see all the wanna be's at the gym throwing down . But they cant play the game .

I never said they can shoot good but people who learn how to play the game have to learn how to dribble and shoot first. I don't see a ton of people dunking where I live. I see a lot of people who can shoot though. Here in CKY if you can't dribble or shoot you can forget about it. We don't have many people dunking on anyone in games around these parts. I can tell you who the shooters are on most of the teams around here though.
June 18, 201412 yr I grew up playing in. Tradition rich portsmouth ohio . Grew up across the river in greenup co. . The players around here must value the dunk more than dribbling and shooting . Lot of Dunkers , less good players .
