March 14, 200323 yr Bayou Segnette State Park is within 1 mile from my front door. I remember driving through Greenbo or CarterCaves and seeing deer all over the place. They say after hibernation that as I drive through Bayou Seg, I will see plenty of alligators. Now that is a big difference.
March 23, 200323 yr If you go down to western Kentucky, try the campgrounds in LBL -- Hillman's Ferry is great -- or the wrangler's campground if you have a horse. The campgrounds at Lake Barkley State Park and Kentucky Dam Village are OK as well.

April 13, 200323 yr If you enjoy hiking, southwestern Virginia is the place to be. I hiked up to the Cascades in Jefferson National Forest this weekend - it was beautiful! It was 65 degrees without a cloud in the sky. The creek level was high due to all the recent rain, and the waterfall was flowing magnificently! Here's a pic: I'm also 30 minutes out from an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachain Trail!
