KBA Court Royalty Tournament

Featured Replies

Does anyone know anything about this tournament? Heard there's a team playing in it that consists of,

Jeremiah Tisdale (Henry Clay)

Tanner Johnson (Lexington Catholic)

CJ Walker (Bryan Station)

Ronnie Carson Jr. (East Jessamine)

Darius Williams (PLD)

Andre Davis (Bryan Station)

Raekwon Long (Scott County)

Don't know who else is on the roster but that's a pretty tough bunch!

I saw the schedule on KBA. Barely any teams in it. I'm sure some will use it as a tune up for next week.

How'd they fare?

Did they charge $7 to get in and use the girl selling slushies as a referee like they did last week? LOL

From what I've heard, they've been putting on a show. Its been all eyes on them! The younger kids playing in the tournament are enamored by what they've seen and have been asking for their autographs. Lol!

Yea but who are they playing against ?? Can't be very tough competition. If I was a coach I wouldn't want my players playing in a meaningless tournament the weekend before the state tournament. Chance of players getting injured !

Was their team name Lexington Ballers or Lexington Hustle? Ballers beat Hustle by 2 in pool play. Didn't see any tournament results posted on the site.

KBA tournaments this year have by far been the worst when dealing with officials, I've been there for 2 tourny's over the past month or so and every game I've watched it seemed as the officals were completely clueless as to the rules of the game and how they communicate with not just the players but the parents who are watching, no class what so ever

Its funny you say that because we just had this discussion this past weekend that playing this past weekend in Ohio the officials haven't been to bad. Besides being very inconsistent when calling a foul they let tend the boys play which at times you wonder how someone is not going to get hurt.. But if you understand that going in there that very few fouls are going to be called you can go in and play physical not expecting everything to be called.

Just hope the boys don't get used to that when when they come back to KY where things are called a lot tighter.

KBA is one place that I will not miss with my child no longer playing AAU. Over priced, arrogant, poor officiating, poor scheduling, no parking, etc.

They were the Hustle. My team played really well against them for being a bunch of bench warmers and baseball players. We edged the Hustle by 2 in overtime of a very good seed game. The hustle was without tisdale and carson I believe for this game. Both teams rematched in the final game and played well. We were up early in the first half, but got into foul trouble near the end of the half and got down by 4 at halftime. The second half was anyone's game until the final few minutes but we could not overcome our fouls and had an off shooting night, which resulted in a loss by around 9.

The hustle was a very good team. They were quick to the basket and shot the ball well. Williams played a very good game and we didn't match him as well this second time around. It was a very fun game to be able to play with all this local talent.

Our team has some very good players. We have been putting together some nice KBA tournament wins and this was our first loss since starting the season (13-1). We are very new and have trouble with consistency on players...especially with baseball. Three players that have been big contributors for us were out this weekend. We are not a sponsored team and stay mostly local. Our goal is to compete in one NCAA certified event (likely in Louisville). We expect to play next weekend at the state tournament and hope to draw some interest in our players. Please check us out.

The Lextown Ballers lineup consists of

Jeremy Ward - Dunbar

PJ Corio - Dunbar

JJ Burns - Dunbar

Tariq Miller - Madison Central

Jacob Herrin - Dunbar Baseball

Zach Conner - Dunbar Baseball

We also have 2 players from Tates Creek that could not make it this weekend due to baseball and a third player that was in Columbus.

Also playing for us in the tournament were:

Jordan Brown - Dunbar

Bobby Taylor - I think he still goes to Dunbar, but did not play basketball

Rudi Gui

DJ Jenkins - Harrison Co.

Thanks to coach brown for letting them play with us in this match.
