Hedges as Border for High School Football Field?

Featured Replies

Does anyone have an example of hedges used to border a high school football field in KY (example: Sanford Stadium @ Georgia)?

Garrard County and Marion County are the first two that come to mind. Very sharp. Nice places as is, but those really add to it.

I believe that Franklin Simpson used to have them. Not sure if they do any more.

Boyle county used to have them like Sanford, but when they put the new turf field in they took them out.

That is a cool look. I am sure its expensive.

Marion and Garrard ' s are sharp. All the way around. Garrard especially bc of no track around the field.

Harry;

Many thanks. Updating our stadium. Just a thought ....

Downside to the hedges...when they are mature and a couple die, hard to replace them. I am a fan of the look though. Does Wayne Co. have them as well?

Yes they do.

Yes they do.

Forgot about the boys in Monticello. Good call.

My pleasure. Good luck with it!

To clarify, Garrard only has them around the south endzone, not the entire field. They basically go from the 20-yard line, around the back of the endzone, and then up to the 20-yard line. The booster club put them in several years ago and they have really started to look great the last 3-4 years. They redden up a little in the fall and on nights when the sun is still out as the game starts they look like our school colors.

Thanks for the praise, Harry. We've had lots of compliments on our stadium/field and with the new bleachers put in last season it is even better.

Wayne County is one of my favorite places to watch a game. Very pretty facility.
