cn|2 Sports  - Softball dads build their daughters a field of dreams

This is a great story about the building of Bamboo Gardens at Notre Dame.

Having been mostly around the NDA volleyball program the past 15 years, I started following NDA softball about 4 years ago. Truly some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet. Always asking, "What can we do to help our team?" I love going to games now and to see the transformation of the program during that time has been very inspiring.

If you haven't been to the field, take the time to catch a game. The field is awesome.

Thanks to these two guys for the vision and hard work. You set a great example for all of What high school athletics are all about.

Hard Work Wins!

Glad to hear the school supports the parents in upgrading the facilities.

My daughter played at NDA. We took it from a bare bones facility to a useable facility. Had to bring in bleachers. Built some of the fencing. Got it to "solid."

These guys have done amazing work down there. A 2-level dugout with ceiling fans and lights? Nice.

Great story!!

Did the Track/Soccer/LAX dad's build that Olympic Village the AD was sitting in front of?!?

No. That came from a lot of fundraising.

Shows what can get done when a few put there minds to it and inspire others to get involved. Great work by some hard working guys and what I like is it did not cost one tax dollar. It is a great place to play but the problem is the team you have to play when you show up is very good so it is a hard place to come away with a win. Well Done by all involved.
