Cards have beaten the Warriors by double digits 3 times this year. Does Wayne continue to roll or will Southwestern pull off the upset?

I picked Wayne to win all of their 12th Region tourney games by 8 points or more.

 

I'm stubborn.

 

Wayne by 9.

My gut and head say Wayne County beats Southwestern for the 4th time this year and I think it is their experience that does it for them. Definitely have to tip the cap to Southwestern to be in this position after losing Kapinga and Collier. I simply think Wayne is the better team in all facets.

As much as I HATE to say it I think SW may pull this off tonight...they are playing great right now, as are the Cards but I think they may be tough to beat a fourth time. I wish Kapinga had stayed for his senior season at Southwestern, his addition to the team could have made them real special this season.

"Could have" being the operative question. They won the region in 2011-12, brought Kapinga, Edwards, Collier and others back last season but were 22-9 with six of those losses to in-region teams and lost in the first round of the Region. This season they don't have Kapinga or Collier and they are thus far 26-6 (with 3 of those losses to Wayne), are a much better team than they were last year and are challenging Wayne County for the title tonight. Who is to say what part team chemistry plays in all of it? I am not placing blame on the two players that did not return, only saying that for some reason it worked better this season than it did the previous season (when they obviously should have been overpowering after their powerful finish in 2011-12).

Of those 6 regional losses 3 were to (a much Better last year than this year) Pulaski and 2 were to (Region Champs) Wayne County. I think it has more to do with the competition being better last season than lack of chemistry.

I am going with SW in this one. I was at both of the games at SW and they were MUCH closer than the score would indicate. SW has had Wayne on the ropes and simply failed to get the job done. Tonight I predict they are able to get the W. It will not come easy as Wayne is extremely talented and well coached. Good luck Warriors! SW 62-60.
