Don't check stats bc they haven't been great!! Swinging the bat pretty well but some tough luck and hasn't got a lot of ab's bc of it. Her D has been great so that has keep her in the lineup every game at least.

 

Its been fun and we have played a pretty tough schedule up to this point.

 

Wish I was in Hawaii with her these two weeks.

 

JMU, now that Maddy is in the middle of the season, how is she liking the softball/school work balance? College transition is always hard but athletes have to have even more tough road. I'm sure she's handling it like the champ she is; just wondering if I need to have mine reach out to her so she can fill her in on what she may expect at te next level.

Congrats to Maddy!! She is one of the hardest working girls that I have seen in fastpitch. She deserves every bit of recognition she gets.:dancingpa

She likes it or at least she tells me she does....There were 11 freshman on the team this year and she had either the lowest or one of the lowest act scores on the team coming in but ended up either first or second in gpa for the fall semester. As much as I bash HC I really think it helped her far more than the public school in our area would or could have.

 

She seems to balance both ok every school is a little different as far as how much time they have to put in. I doubt any school puts in to much more time than the girls at JMU. Their coach is kinda crazy and demands alot out of them and they push each other alot also as far as working and practing on their own team bonding activites and such. They always have different volunteer stuff they do or team dinners or camps to work so very little free time. I guess the easiest way to put it is that most her life now has an itinerary to go along with it.

 

I think you know if Haylee needs anything Maddy or I would do what we could to help so if she has any questions just let us know.

That's great that she is doing well! I completely agree about the private school preparing them for college; at least I'm praying it does with mine. Having an itinerary will keep some of them outta of trouble. Although, I find it hard to believe Maddy would be one of those.

Maddy Moran, a Holy Cross alum, currently in her freshman year at James Madison University, hit her first college home run against University of California in a 3-0 win. It is the first win in JMU history over a PAC-12 school. Maddy not only hit her first home run, she drove in all three runs by going 2-2 with a 2 run homer and a RBI single. Glad to see that she is continuing to excell. I know her dad is proud.
