At first I was thinking Ryle is a train wreck. If they can find a QB they might be a contender to win their district.

They return alot of size on the O-line. The Ross brothers are both over 270 pounds, Teepen is a good size kid along with Triston Hall who is around 280 pounds.

This season will all hinge on what coach Engler can put together on a shortened changeover. He has a lot of athletes. We just need to put them in a position to win. As for the Qb position it's wide open competition, may the best kid win. If we can pass, we'll be able to run. We are still big on the O-line. Just hope we can move our feet to be in good position. Defense backfield will be young but fast. Linebackers will be solid. D-line? We still don't know how much Engler will two platoon. He has almost 35 juniors. Skill positions will be strong. We just need to get the ball in space. We have another tough schedule, so it's knee deep in blood from the start. I think some of our Juniors skills will have very a productive season under Engler's offense. See ya on the field. Can't wait for a peak during spring ball.

Learn, learn, learn the new system!

The key will be if the Raiders can develop a quarterback.

Bateman, McGregor, England & Woolf all have good speed. It will all depend on how they are utilized on offense.

Lots of talent returning on defense. Ryan Woolf 1st Team Coaches Association, Alex Brownell, Jon Belk, Johnny Meiman, Mason Locke all saw varsity time as sophomores & juniors.

Absolutely agree that QB is key. Coach Engeler has an excellent track record with QB's. I believe the athletes in the system now are pretty impressive. The kids you mention here are great kids that have won at every level. Ryle will also have a nice sophomore class, especially at the skills spots. They have Ashley, Scherr, Burch, Long, and Cuzick that can help with team speed and can score from anywhere on the field. O'Hara did a great job and improved tremendously last year as a passer. Great athlete. Not sure if he can step in as a sophomore but he is not intimidated to compete with anyone. It will depend on how Rylewski and Brandt improve as to who actually gets the snaps. Regardless, it should be an exciting team over the next few years.

At Qb I think you can throw in Pogliano ( hope I spelled it right ), England and I think O'hara all will have a chance to compete. It's going to be more than a two horse race.

Although I do not think that England is best suited to play QB, I would agree with you that it is not a two horse race. I think the important thing is that Coach Engeler will be great for all of our QB's development.

Any word on the freshmen coaches? Are they coming back?

I believe that most of them are back.

That is good to hear.

Does Ryle plan to platoon? Did they platoon last year?

They did for the most part. Had to go young to do so after all the injuries.
