The Lady Cards will be hard to handle in the regional tournament if thy play like they played last night.

I talked to a college coach that was there last night and he said she is one of the best "bigs" he has seen all year.

Graham couldn't miss in the first half.

Lady Indians struggle from the FT line and have too many unforced turnovers.

Congrats to my friend Robbie Graham. He deserves this title.

[h=1]Clark tops Montgomery County for title[/h]

Graham had a big say in who ended up with the prized hardware, scoring 22 points to lead all scorers and help lead the Lady Cardinals to their first district title since 2011. Graham, daughter of Clark coach Robbie Graham, made three 3-pointers and made nine of 10 free throws in the last quarter to help secure the victory.

“It’s a big win,” Robbie Graham said. “Anytime you can win a championship is good and to beat your rival on their home floor. … is a big night for us. They’re a good a team and knew they would compete hard but we’re really pleased with our win.”

Sydney Anderson followed Lexxus Graham with 13 points but held Montgomery County standout Erica Rogers to 12 points. Rogers tallied 31 points in the previous meeting but didn’t come close to notching the same figure in the district finale and was held to three points in the final half.

Sandra Skinner rounded out three Clark players in double figures with 11 points. Skinner was hindered by foul problems and scored just two points in the first half but scored seven in the final eight minutes, keeping the Lady Cardinals in command.

Schyler Tipton led Montgomery County with 16 points, with seven in the final eight minutes.

Although Clark achieved one its goals, Skinner said the Cards aren’t finished just yet.

“We’re shooting for five (wins) and this is just the second game,” she said.

Coach Graham and his daughter Lexus.

You can show me a million pictures of basketball action, but none will be better than that photo of Coach Graham and his daughter Lexus!!

Everyone of us who have children that compete in athletics (at any level) can feel and understand the emotions (both father AND daughter) in that picture. Congratulations to both, and savor that sweet feeling.

That made my day .... well done!
