Wallace led the visitors with 23 points as the Indians remain unbeaten

Montgomery Co jumped out to a double digit lead early in the first half and it stayed there pretty much the rest of the way. Scott never gave in, and really outworked the Indians in the 4th quarter to keep the game very respectable.

 

Osborne led Scott with 20, and he really played well in the second half. Ohmer also played well, scoring 12.

 

Piersawl and Jones hit double figures for the Indians and Hodgson and Thomas came off the bench with 7 each. Wallace probably had 5-8 steals to go with his 23 points, and was definitely the player of the game.

A little closer than I thought it would be.

Did Blake Schneider play for Scott or is he still out?

Schnedier did not play. MC jumped out 16-4, Scott cut it to 20-17 before another MC run to make it 39-23 at the half. Game was cut to 10 at the start of the 4th quarter, the Eagles missed 7 layups in the final period and had many chances to get it to a couple position game.

Jeremy Jackson played fairly well. I believe he hit 4 3-pointers. Crim struggled tonight, in the second half it appeared him and Carr were bumping heads. Ben Osborne is really starting to find his stride, I guess better late then never. Jake Ohmer I think is starting to feel more comfortable out on the floor, playing like he did for the freshman team last year; creating for not only himself but other players.

 

For MoCo, Wallace is everywhere. He definitely should be in the mix for one of the top players in the state. He caused havoc defensively and offensively did a great job keeping the team under control and he always found the open man. The few times he made a turnover, he busted his butt back and was rewarded with a few monstrous blocks.

 

Overall, it is just another W for the Indians, tonight I did not see much production from 31, if he starts to get in the mix of things on both sides of the ball, they will have a legitimate chance to go undefeated. For the Eagles, yea it is a loss, but I hate to say it, almost a moral victory. They now know they have a variety of options offensively, and when adversity hits, they can rely more on freshman Jake Ohmer. With Schneider becoming healthy once again, I see them as possibly be the "Cinderella" team in the 10th region this year.

Coach Carr said in the pre-game that is was his hope that the Eagles would "learn" from this game. Coming back from being down 14 and cutting it to 3 showed that they can play with the big teams, but they need a healthy Schneider and more from Crim to be able to make a run. Jeremy Jackson hit 5 three pointers and had 17 points and Ben Osborne had 18 of his 20 in the second half.

 

For Montgomery, Wallace had 15 in the second half. Was impressed with Piersawl who quietly had 12 points. Cisero (31) was limited to 6 points (2 from the stripe).

 

Montgomery is very deep. Coach Holland told me before the game that the record is a bit deceiving, as they have not reached half of their potential. That's scary. Great catching up with him.

 

I agree with SF1230, Scott can make a run, but they need to work on some things and get a bounce or two. Cinderella indeed......

They hit a bunch of threes, which was a their only offense for a large stretch. I wouldn't be surprised if half their points came from beyond the ark.

Crim was in foul trouble most of the game, so that limited him some as well.

 

Cisero (#31 for the Indians) hasn't been a big scorer the last few games. He is the leading rebounder on the team, though, and has shown his ability to score when called upon.

 

Wallace is a star. The more I watch him, the more I am impressed. He does it all for the Indians, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's leading the state in steals.

Several of those missed layups were blocked by the Indians. I'm pretty sure Wallace had at least two on Scott fast breaks in the fourth quarter.
