Is Male a young team? I ask because I have seen them play 3 games this year and they really pass the "eyeball test" when you look at them. They are deep, they are long, they are athletic and they have really good individual talent. Why can't they string a whole bunch of Ws together?

That's the million dollar question.

No idea. Part of the problem may be that they're young at some positions but not at others. They've got experience in the frontcourt but graduated both their guards last year who were, I think, both two or three year starters. Not a lot of experience in the backcourt.

I really thought they'd be solid this year. Couldn't be more surprised by how poorly things are going for them.

When I talked to Rodrick Rhodes in Lexington (before he played them) he brought them up and shook his head and wondered the same thing... little did he know.

Backcourt makes A LOT of turnovers when pressured. No great ball handler on the team.

I believe Male problem is coaching. They have talent on that team. Kids are scared to make a mistake, so when they do they get taken out of game. Jtown obviously did not have to size to handle Male but Will Parker sit most of the second half. and Male coach substitution patten was iffy at best. I think coach is just working some things to be ready for tournament time. They have the kids to compete.

Now Jtown has played one of their better defensive games against Male last night. They are more of an offensive based team but when the big 3 (Marshal, Williams, Johnson) are having bad nights Jtown would look god awful... But it seems now Coach Moody has made defense a priority and game against Bullitt East is going to surprise some people.
