In my opinion, if Barker comes in and is the starting qb at the beginning of the season because of winning the job in camp, then to me that says just how bad the qb situation is as Kentucky. And that's not meant as a slam on Drew. And I think that even if he is the best option next year, UK would still be wise to redshirt him and go with one of the others. I mean, you HAVE to start doing that at some point in time (redshirting your talent and building your depth) if you want to play with the big boys, right?

I have to believe they want to redshirt him.

 

Everyone I know around the team said Reese was the best QB on the team last year, and they redshirted him. IMO Barker would have to come in and stand out, without a doubt, better than everybody to even be considered.
