Scott County 67 Hazard 47

Final from the Republic Bank Classic.

Help could be on the way for the Bulldogs. It is my understanding that 3 foreign kids have enrolled and are awaiting a ruling. Expect to know more by mid-January.

Trent Gilbert leads Scott County with 25. Kid can flat out shoot.

To add to that, I think one of the more underrated facets of his game is his ability to handle and create for himself off the dribble. Low, tight dribble, and plenty of fakes, hesitation moves, and, probably most importantly, the ability to step back and get separation.

Scott County's Trent Gilbert (12) showed fans why he's being strongly considered for the Mr. Basketball award. Hazard did little to slow the crafty senior guard during the Republic Bank Classic from Lexington Catholic High School on 12/27/13.

Gilbert is also a great kid with an awesome work ethic. He is a true gym rat.

Gilbert played for Wolfe County through his 8th grade year. He started on their varsity as an 8th grader. I know the folks in Campton really hated to see the Gilbert family move to Scott County. You could see he had unreal potential even as an middle school player.
