There's been a hostage situation going on since about 6 PM. It involved a combat veteran who is having relationship issues with his girlfriend. Reportedly, he fired shots from his house. Kids are inside.

I just saw some of the language he used on a FB post. Might want to move this to CI.

I'm praying for all involved no one gets hurt and it is resolved soon.

I've been following this on social media for the past 2 1/2 hours.

Wow! Just read his FB . Maybe if someone gets Sen Paul to call him and talk it out. If he stands down people will see he didn't intend to hurt anyone, and he will get the help he needs and wants.

Cincinnati Fire bomb squad now on scene.

Reading that there was gunfire overnight.

Evidently there were two children in the house. Michael Vaughan, the suspect, maintained that the children were safe and sound, asleep in bed. I'm assuming they woke up this morning to pretty tense household.

However, we really need to pay more attention to PTSD with our veterans. Lots of cuts to support for them yet lots of cases being reported. We can't ask these people to go to the bad parts of the world and then not provide needed support when they return.

Agreed. Don't know that PTSD is the reason for this but if it is get him some help.
