Bach's off balance 12-footer wins it at the buzzer.

Snapp was the game MVP in my opinion. 26 points for him. Bach had 22.

Crawford and Nate Haight both with 20. Scott Fite with 13 and Ryan May 12.

Congrats on the win Augusta

Did you go Randy? I haven't seen a buzzer beater in years. They are always exciting.

First half was Bracken County's game behind the play of Austin Crawford & Nate Haight. Crawford had 14 in the first half & was the best player on the floor during that time. He got to the basket at will, scored, dished out several assists, & Augusta really could not stop him.

Augusta's Camryn Snapp was also very good in the first half, scoring 13 of his game-high 26 & he really was the key in helping Augusta go to the locker room down just 5 points.

The third quarter was where the game turned completely. Augusta came out & threw some trapping in their halfcourt defensive sets, which forced a handful of Bracken turnovers & quick shots. After the dust settled, Augusta had outscored Bracken County 23-9.

Give credit to Bracken for persevering & getting back in this. Haight hit some big shots down the stretch & Augusta couldn't buy a free throw. I believe they were 7-19 for the game (although Bracken was 9-16, I think). The crucial Augusta misses were a pair by both Austin Wiseman & Dustin Freeman. Freeman missed his with the score 67-64 and about 20 seconds left. Bracken came down & Haight got a decent look from 3 but missed. Battle for the rebound came to Ryan May who kicked it back out to a WIDE OPEN Haight at the top of the key, who connected & tied the game at 67 with 6.1 left.

Augusta calls timeout & sets up a beautiful play. Bach takes it out but Snapp runs out of bounds & Bach passes it to him. Bach then takes off & Snapp gets it to him at about the foul line. Bach dribbles down the right side, guarded very well by a couple Bracken defenders, and he hits an off-balance 12-15-footer as time expires. Heck of a play, a clutch shot, & brought an end to a really good game. It's the kind of play that players like Bach are expected to make, and he did it.

As I mentioned earlier, Snapp was the MVP of this game in spite of Bach's late-game heroics. He was steady all night long & Bracken had no answer for him at all. He hit 3's, drove to the basket, hit 5-6 free throws. Kid played really, really well. Connor Maddox only had 9 points--all of them in the 2nd half. Bracken did a nice job on him.

Crawford & Haight were both really good, but I thought Austin should have got more looks in the 2nd half. He had his way in the first half, but did not seem to assert himself enough in the 2nd.

Exciting game & atmosphere. These two teams simply picked right back up where they left off from last years District finals.

Panthers, Lady Bears continue streaks over county rivals

Off game for Bach scoring 10 less than his avg. :lol2:

I mean hitting the game winner probably made up for it.

Kid is the best scorer in the 10th hands down and could be the best in the state if he keeps it up.

He is the best scorer (and player) in the Region, but to the scoring, here is what impresses me the most: he seldom forces the issue. He has also become a more well-rounded scorer. He seems to rely less on the 3-pointer & has become more adept at driving and getting to the FT line.

I'd also say that I see a lot of Bach in young Austin Crawford of Bracken County. Kid is just a freshman, but certainly plays older than his age. Very athletic, extremely good handles, & also really good at getting others involved. He made a drive on the baseline last night where he went up for a shot & had to adjust the ball from his right to his left hand mid-air & he hit the shot. My wife, who is the least animated person on planet earth, even had to comment. She simply said, "Wow!"
