Ballard/Scott Co. Updates

End 3rd; Ballard leads 73-54.

Martin has taken over since the break: 11 points that quarter.

The No. 23 I mentioned above... new transfer Teddy Ware; he's got 8 points since the half.

Now I have to learn Scott Co.'s No. 32: great fundamental game... one of those guys a coach has to love having on his team.

Halftime; Ballard leads 49-32.

Snider with 16 pts, 4 ast, 3 reb and 2 stls in the first half. Wow.

I don't have Scott County's roster with me. Their scoring has come from the play of two talented guards, No. 12 (I think Gilbert) and No. 23... I'll know their names during the second half, I promise.

Ballard is so tough to stop. When they had trouble getting it inside, they shot from outside (7 threes as a team that half); when the defense started cheating out to the guards, Martin started seeing openings in the lane.

Gilbert with 28 already. Sounds like he's giving Ballard the business.

Gilbert absolutely GOING OFF to try and keep Scott Co in this thing. I think he's got 18 this half including four threes.

Ballard leads 80-69 with five minutes to play.

Same tonight.

...Long has a ways to go...

Lon finally asserting himself... could make this interesting.

Ballard leads 84-75 with 3:15 to play.

Scott County turning up the pressure; really getting after Ballard's ball handlers high above the top of the key.

Ballard can't deal with this pressure right now. No help to get Snider out of the press and a double team leads to a turnover and a basket for ScottCo.

Ballard's lead down to 85-81

1:15 to play, Ballard with the ball and an 87-81 lead

Long has fouled out. I have four points and two rebounds in a disappointing night for the seven footer.

Sends Malik Dow to the line where he makes both.

89-81 Ballard with a minute to play. Scott Co has the ball and takes a timeout.

Ballard 91-83; Scott Co misses a three point try with 34 seconds left. Snider to the line to ice it...

Another bucket for Gilbert and Ballard leads 92-85.

Snider to the line again forBallard, 20 secs remaining.
