Meade County looked impressive tonight, but were their losses to John Hardin (17-7) and Male (41-12) early in the season games the Wave played at full strength?

 

I just ask because if Scott County holds on to beat Male in impressive fashion (it is currently 24-7 Scott County), then one would think the state championship game could get ugly if the transitive property holds.

Even if Male comes back to win, it'd mean Meade County is facing a team that beat them 41-12 earlier in the year.

Any explanation for these two losses that makes us think Scott County won't paste Meade after handily beating the Male team that destroyed Meade 42-12 in an earlier meeting?

Comparing scores means squat. McCracken lost to PT, Henderson beat PT by two scores, McCracken beat Henderson by 2 scores. I think this especially goes when trying to compare early season scores to now.

I tend to agree but 41-12 is a pretty convincing win, especially when Male barely beats CAL late and then gets thoroughly beaten by Scott County at home.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't know if "match ups" alone really explain a 30 point win which probably could have been worse now that they are playing a team that definitively beat the one who blew them out so badly.

 

I just posed the question because I wondered if there were injuries that would explain the losses more so than eyeballing the numbers.

Good stuff to talk about but means nothing once the game kicks off. I hope the Cards don't look at that score and all the threads on here and think they have already finished the job.

I'm sure Meade will be more than ready... the Cards need to be as well.

Just to try an attempt at answering the question, when Meade played John, Meade was at full strength. The problem is these teams know each other very well and play a similar style. John won, but it is always a good game. Meade generally has slow starts but gets stronger throughout the year. They make more improvements than any other team I've watched. So I guess the answer is don't look at the scores earlier in the year to assess Meade County. This is a much different team.

Yea you can not compare losses... If that was the case Meade County would be ranked up there with Bowling Green because we gave up less points than they did to John.. This comparing scores stuff is crazy, its all about matchups. How a team lines up to anothers offense, how physical and a less seen factor in mental toughness in terms of being ready and not being intimidated which happens alot when little teams play big well known schools like T,X..

If you look back to 2006 John Hardin beat Meade like 31-6, Meade comes back and beats John Hardin in the District championship 14-6... Scores mean nothing ots how you prepare and how much you can learn during the season.... Early losses better Meade team now for it.. this one will be a classic.

I cant think of any other than they played Breck county first game of the season and had to adjust rather harshly to a whole different game speed.. Meade could of picked the score in that game it did them no good would of been more productive in practice but they want to renew the rivalry
