Who wins and why?

This will be a tough one for the Cards. Hopefully, Jackson's back 100% healthy for this one. They'll need him. I think Mayfield's D really stepped it up last night and if they play like they did this week, going forward, to go along with that powerful and balanced offense, they should be okay. I fully expect Myers and those Panthers to throw the kitchen sink at them this week, just think without a good passing game to keep the Cards D honest, that they'll just load the box and make it tough to run the ball real effectively for 4 qtrs. I expect Russellville to break a few big plays and put a few points on the board, but, ultimately, Mayfield's D will get a few more stops and there offensive balance will give them enough to move on to the semis. I think this one will be closer than the last one, mayfield by 7.

This is the biggie! over the last 2 seasons no one in 1A has played Mayfield better than Russellville has the last 2 meetings.

 

Mf is missing Jackson but he may get cleared by the Doctors in time to play and if not we are still fine with a deep group of recievers who all have alot of catches and proven themselves this year. The Cards otherwise are healthy and should be good to go. After the last game, won by the Cards 42-21, I was listening to the coaches show and the coach mentioned that Russellville came out and ran a completely different offense than what they had seen from them all year and it worked briefely as Russellville quickly jumped on the Cards to the tune of 14 love. Then the Mayfield coaching staff showed us why they are some of the best in the business and quickly made the correct adjustments on the fly just as I have witnessed them do so many times before and from there Russellville managed very little offense. The Russellville coach is aslo a dandy and former Mayfield assistant but outside of trying to pass alot, which is not really their strength, I just don't see them having alot more wrinkles to add. They did jurt themselves with turnovers but the style offense they run and Mayfield pressure caused that. They are very good but Mayfield should be okay if we are focused. I think we win by a similar margin.

Mayfield by 3 or 4 scores. I'm hearing that Russellville's big running back may have a high ankle sprain.
