gchs_uk9 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Will the games be forfeited immediately or after the season? If immediately, that would alter the playoff picture in Class A Region 4. Fairview would be the four seed and travel to Pikeville, while Paintsville and Nicholas County would each bump up one seed, giving Paintsville a home game. I have heard they might forfeit but wasn't sure on the timeline. I would think this decision would need to be made pretty soon.
Watusi Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I think it would become effective immediately after the KHSAA concludes their investigation. I have no idea how far along that investigation is. Everyone seems to feel this is just the tip of the iceberg, so I am going to expect that the investigation is not nearing completion. Based on that pure speculation, my bet would be on after the season.
Ram Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Unless Fairview is banned from post-season play, the forfeitures will not effect the playoff format. The player in question did not play in any District games this season. He only played in the first four (Non-District) games.

oldrambler Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I certainly hope that the khsaa are going back and really investigating all, should that be then I honestly don't see how they will not uncover multiple violations over a period of years, not games along with the methods used in commiting these multiple (and that imo is an understatement).
