He's having a great season! I don't want to jinx him because we need him to keep it up.

His deep ball sunday looked great. He's had 2 games where his deep ball was right on the money, week 1 and this sunday. I'm hoping he continues to improve on that because that right now is the only downside I've seen from him this year. He needs to be more consistent when going downfield because when he can that opens up an entirley different aspect to the offense that the defenses have to worry about.

UKMF, if you find yourself in a bad mood at some point, and you need a real hearty belly-laugh, go back to the threads about what QB's are better than Dalton. It is better than the Comedy Channel.

Okay Hoyer / Weeden, I hear you. When one of those two makes a Pro Bowl or leads a team to a 2nd consecutive playoff appearance, they'll be even. Until then, it is one of the most preposterously inaccurate posts ever, and from someone with your knowledge and journalism skill, it borders on the "I was hacked" level of craziness. I'd expect that wacky knee-jerk sentiment from a "fan", but from an experienced journalist, it is nonsensical.

Wasn't just you, others wanted Tannehill and Locker over him too, heck, and many others. Of course, I think you were in that vocal minority that labeled him bottom 5 in the NFL too....equally out-of-left-field.

I truly hope he continues his pace for two reasons.

One, so the Bengals win a Super Bowl

And two

So your post doesn't come back to haunt you.

The former would be awesome! As far as the latter, he can start chucking it to guys in the wrong jerseys with crazy regularity and he still isn't close to the bottom 5 in the NFL. Not. Close. He just isn't.

He isn't, and in my opinion never will be, elite (so trite!). However, he is a middle of the road guy who can facilitate the ball to his playmakers and minimize his mistakes often enough to win games. My criticism of him was, and is, he needs to rise up in big moments (two playoff games, the series in Chicago after they got the lead, etc.), but even with that being said, comparing him to some of the clowns that were being tossed around is silly.

I agree with you, right now he isn't bottom 5.

I did have my doubts earlier in the season though. He does tend to produce that real stinker of a game, I'm just hoping he got over that hump and has the confidence now to keep growing.

To be honest, I'd be very happy to have a Bengals vs. 49ers Super Bowl...as long as the Bengals can settle for second place.

I don't want to re-live that whole goofy conversation, but to be fair, he wasn't bottom 5 then either. There is so much terrible QB play in the league, heck there are more than 5 teams that can't even settle on a guy. It was hyperbolic from jump.

Okay...enough of that, let's all just enjoy a positive season and hope that this post-season is better than the previous ones.

We've lived through that story before....twice.

Yep, I'm good with that all day long lol.

Fixed it for you

No way...I'm 49ers through and through. There are teams I get into (mostly because of fantasy football) each season and I'm starting to come around since I've been watching the Bengals so much lately.

Not surprisingly, Marvin Jones was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
