Stepp really is good and better yet he comes from a fine family.you must be the jealous kind. You seem somewhat obsessed with your dislike for them.sorry but you got some rough years ahead because they will be good for years to come.

I've seen some odd things happen with 14th Region refs.

I have seen them too. I guess no region has a monopoly on this sort of thing. The point is, though, if Team A is traveling to a different region to play Team B, most of the time (but not always) the calls will be very favorable for the home team. For one thing, the home team can throw their press at full throttle and not worry too much about the bumping and hacking calls, whereas the other team gets the ticky-tack fouls, usually on their key players, sending them to the bench for long stretches.

This scenario does not always play out, but it does happen more frequently than not. And, yes, I realize it probably happens in all regions, including the 14th.

The problem lies in the fact that only in region coaches rate the officials. The system needs to be tweeked becasue if I were a ref, it would be easy to "lean" toward the coach that I knew would be giving me a rating. Thats why there needs to be a better system, so that out of region teams dont get it stuck to them.

Do your reasearch before you post and you won't look bad. I have stated on many posts for the last two years that Stepp is a very good ballplayer and I have rated him in the top 5 up and coming stars. It is some of the coaches that I dislike and I can not name him without being in violation of the rules on this forum. The coach in question crossed the line with some of our young men and I addressed it to the school in a formal complaint and to KHSAA. But the school approved of his behavior. The situation could have gotten completely out of control. From what I hear Some of your kids won't be back next year anyway so be careful about predicting the future. I believe that high school basketball should be for the kids and the adults should well stay adults. If you want the story behind my feeling Please PM me
