In the Beechwood/Dayton game Beechwood's Devon Everett made a spectacular catch for a touchdown where he pinned the ball against his helmet. It was a big time athletic play. Did anyone else see the catch? What did you think? And a shout out to Tim Burns here, I am pretty sure you captured a picture of the play, how about it Timmy?

I would love to see a picture of that catch. It was hard to see it on that side of the field from where I was standing. I am sure a good picture would look better than what it looks like on film. That was an excellent catch.

 

Devon Everett is one of the best athletes on the team. His athleticism and versatility have been a big help this year allowing him to fill roles on both sides of the ball, especially with some of the injuries that Beechwood has suffered.

Seen the catch from the stands...awesome. Devon is an athletic kid. He was well defended on the play but managed to gain position, go up and make the catch, come down with the ball pinned aginst his helmet, while fighting off defenders and staying in bounds....great play. Devon played with a "heavy heart" on this night. His father Chad passed away earlier in the year from a rare form of Cancer. Beechwood dedicated a Red Bench outside the athletic facility in his name at halftime. Devon was also named to the "Homecoming court" at halftime. Devon is a solid Senior Athlete who puts Team before Self. Great Kid.

I saw it and it was an awesome catch! I was too far away to see how he came down with it but it was in a lot of traffic and was great all the way around.
