JC travels to the unfriendly confines of Tank Stadium to taking on the Tigers of Ironton. JC enters this game with a 5-0 record scoring nearly 60 ppg and giving up an average of 14 while Ironton enters the game with a 2-3 record scoring an average of 20 ppg and giving up nearly 23 ppg. One of the toughest places to play, how will the Golden Eagles fair in this one? I'll take JC by 3 TD's

I'll get it over now......do we see a 60 yarder in this game? :deadhorse: :lol2:

Ironton doesn't appear to be very good.

I can't see it, but just say it did happen in Ohio, would that still be recorded in the Kentucky record books as the longest kick ever?

It would appear that way, but Ironton has a big home field advantage

I see several things happening this week

1.) Matney installs the Tecmo Bowl offense where he instructs his kick returners to get tackled at the one-yard line to set up 99-yard drives.

2.) He instructs his nose tackle to dive forward on the snap to force a fumble. Then, see #1

3.) He instructs his receivers to run up and down the yard lines inside :30 so that they score after the quarter gun sounds.

4.) Instead of game film, he shows vintage Tecmo Bowl footage and challenges his offense to be like, Montana to Rice and then run like Bo Jackson.

5.) He asks the Johnson County band director to play Tecmo Bowl music on every snap and after every touchdown.

Johnson County 97 Ironton 0

It aint that big of an advantage.

Have you been there.. I havent

Winning at Ironton is pretty darn difficult. I still can't believe the schools in Ohio hire the officials for games. But, with that said, Johnson Central wins pretty easily, but they will probably have several touchdowns called back and double Ironton in penalty yardage. Heck, Matney may get a new state record for penalty yards assessed.

That's what I've always heared. Just watching highlights of Patrick Lewis last year flags flew a lot during the highlights at Ironton. Sounds like playing at tolsia to me.

It's pretty bad.

One of my favorite Tank stories, a kid I know was playing at Tank for Ashland. Ashland fumbled and Ironton recovered it. The player said, the ref coming running in to the pile saying "Our ball", "Our ball". The player said he just stood there looking at the ref, thinking "why is he is saying 'our' ball".
