Glasgow had designs on avenging one of their few losses from 2012 last week, but instead were pasted by Somerset 35-13 on the road, a loss that will send them tumbling in the rankings. They will lick their wounds and attempt to pick themselves back up against another team that beat them last year in Monroe County. They at least get the Falcons at home, where they beat them two years ago 49-28.

Meanwhile Monroe has now won their last 4, though the last three were fairly close affairs, winning by an average of 9 points per game. Last week they opened district play with a 26-19 win on the road against Adair County.

Glasgow 34-27.

Monroe has a chance to defend their honor against a long time rival Glasgow. You can ask any Falcon Alumni and this game means more than most...that being said the Falcons are getting better each week but have a lot of kinks to work out. The Scottie's are coming off a heart felt loss to a really good Somerset so they will be a little angry and hosting the Falcons will be just what they are looking for.

This game will be very tight. If Monroe controls the mistakes they win...if not it will be a long night!!!

This is a little breakdown of these two teams...

#5 2a Glasgow is 4-1

#10 3a Monroe is 4-1

Glasgow has one loss to unranked 2-3 2a Somerset

Monroe has one loss to #2 5-0 3a Wayne county

Glasgow's wins are over teams that have a combined win/loss ratio of 8-16

Monroe's wins are over teams that have a combined win/loss ratio of 14-9

Glasgow has scored 172 and allowed 57

Monroe has scored 133 and allowed 111

To me when you break down strength of schedules and stats Monroe will take this one from the Scotties!!!:sssh:

I could not help but notice coming through Glasgow this morning that the Glasgow faithful had the downtown square all decorated up with "Beat Monroe" painted everywhere!!!

Looks like they are ready for is to roll into town Friday!!!

Too bad the game isn't played on paper...lol. I have a lot of respect for your coach and your players, but the only way this is even a semi-close ballgame is for Glasgow to completely implode and hand the game to the Falcons. Combine Homecoming (the reason for the Square decorations), the Somerset loss and last year's result in T-ville = One ticked off group of Scotties. You will have a very good team for the next 2 years, just completely out-gunned this year. I really like your QB (Lincoln Arnett)...he's a very tough young man.

I'm just glad to see someone from the south post!!! :)

The fact that some on this board (not this thread, but the whole board) are starting to call Glasgow "overrated" is just another motivational factor for Glasgow. Lost very few from last year's squad and people from the north and east are calling them overrated.

Trust me, no one in Bardstown thinks they are overrated.

Overlooking Glasgow this year would be a stupid mistake. They need to make good on there returning speed and experience. Experience is what may get Monroe this year. The talent is there, but there is a lot to be said about the other!!!
