Guard play will be much improved this year and will be surprised if it becomes an issue this season. Mason Co. will not have the best individual player in the 10th Region, I know. But they will have about ten players who have played together for years (since about 4th grade) and all are about equal with each other talent wise. But........they have not proved anything to date at the Varsity level.

 

Didn't Johnson play at Lewis County in middle school?

Came to Mason in the 7th grade I am almost certain. But it could have been a year earlier....cant remember. But he was at Mason in 7th grade.

If he did he was playing up a year or so, because he did play MC 7th and 8th

Royals should be in the thick of things, but a trip to Rupp hinges on guard play.

 

I agree that they will be contenders, but some of the games they have won't be forgone conclusions and will be battles for them. Shawn Johnson could have a huge year, but as Randy mentioned. Guard play.
