A defensive game

Featured Replies

Who are some of the better defenders in NKY soccer?

The little press that soccer gets usually mentions the goals, assists or goalie saves/shutouts. Seldom do you hear about the defensive efforts.

I've seen many teams that don't give up a lot of goals and it is usually due to a strong defensive team. Those boys don't get mentioned too often, but are often the catalyst to a successful team.

So who do you have?

Bishop Brossart has some very smart defensive players. They may not always be the most skilled players, but they get the job done. Brossart's sweeper, Josh Keuper does a nice job of keeping the ball out of the box. He always seems to pick the right time to challenge an incoming striker to knock away the ball. He would have to be my pick for Brossart's key defensive player.

So now we are not just discussing but actually starting threads about soccer?! Did you lose a bet or something? I'm very worried about you, TAC. :eyeonyou:

Have not seen but 3-4 N. Ky. teams this year but really, none of them have standout defenders that come to mind. After seeing a little more maybe that opinion will change.

I saw all of this fuss about soccer having their own forum, yet I still did not see much activity, so I thought I help them out a bit. From the looks of the views, it looks like they may have wasted Guru's time?

OUCH......TAC.....right to the heart. Slow to grow, but soon watch us soar......that way our base is is strong, like the mighty oak.

I will be able to give you an answer next season when I'm attending a lot more soccer games.

Agreed on how the defensive players don't get much mention. First ones blamed when they lose a game. For example, in a 0-2 loss, first thought is that the defense lost it by giving up 2 goals. But you also have to wonder why the offense could not score?

(Because the other team had a great defense! :lol2:)

Has TAC ever actually been to a soccer game ? I think he relies on some of his BBHS friends to bring him up to speed :dancingpa
