Newcath's Drew McDonald Talks Recruiting

Featured Replies

Drew really showing some physical and mental maturity in that interview.

He seems to have grown mentally into his large frame, understands what he has, and is working hard to improve on it. Not always the case with big men, who are sometimes little boys trapped inside a big man's body and have trouble adapting.

Tough competitor!!!

Drew is a little shy on camera, but he has really grown over the past year both physically and mentally. He is finally gaining confidence on the court and it is showing in how he plays. He has the opportunity to really dominate his jr and sr year. Great kid that comes from a great family. Playing with the Travelers has really helped him come out of his shell as well. When I was in Hampton at Boo Williams he was jk around with the other kids a lot and I saw a side of him I hadn't seen before.

I've never known him to not show confidence on the court and that includes playing varsity as a frosh.

If some reading the above didn't know Drew or hasn't seen Drew out in public they'd think he was so shy he didn't have the ability to have fun with friends.

In other words, I say he's a normal kid.

Great stuff Walter, you're doing an awesome job helping these young men get the publicity they deserve. :thumb:

He told me he isn't as comfortable talking on camera. That's why I said he's kinda, shy.

He is a lot more comfortable dribbling up the court and showing a mid range game now too. That's what I was referring to when mentioning his confidence.
