Who are the top 10 teams in the 9th region this year?

Featured Replies

NCC, Notre Dame, Conner & Boone for sure in the Top 10!!! Conner & Boone lost key seniors but have enough returning players to remain tough!! I think Conner's experienced youth outweighs Boone, however!!

Imo Notre Dame is 1st..

I know I'll regret this, but here's my shot at it. Gives us something to discuss! I think ND and NCC will be the clear favorites, but after that, it should be a fun year to watch. I think the rest of the pack are going to be competitive from top to bottom. Any of them will have the potentiall to knock off one of the big dogs at any time. Should be a fun year.

ND - A lot coming back. But lost a lot in Voskuhl. Interesting to see how the new coach does and what players turn out for the team.

NCC - Pretty solid team. Will need to figure out how to score from the outside to be a consistant top team. Teams figured them out last year and made them beat them from the outside. If they can create a threat from outside, they are very hard to defend.

Boone - have some good athletes back and seemed to be figuring things out late last season. Jones will be missed, but plenty coming back.

Conner - this team will be interesting. A lot of young talent, but they seemed to struggle last year when Scott didn't score. I look for Meyers to have a good year and take on more of the scoring role like she did in the second half of last year. Will they get any consistant scoring out of the younger ones?

Holy Cross - I know they lose Beal, but I think they are still in pretty good shape. They have nice size (twin towers) and a good PG in McClendon. Plenty of nice role players as well. Also have to wait and see how the "transfer" plays out!

HHS - Young, but talented. They lose 6 seniors, but played a lot of the younger girls last year in their rotation. They aren't lacking varsity experience, just varsity scoring. The more comfortable they get scoring, the better they will be. When they shoot well from 3, they are very tough to guard. Work in progress. Ryle, Conner and HHS all loaded with young talent. Conner a step ahead this year because of some of their seniors.

Ryle - Again, a ton of young talent! They will need to find their scorers with Johnson and Oliverio gone. But if they do, they can be a threat. (IF THEY EVER GET A COACH!)

Beechwood - Some nice young talent in Aly Johnson and Macy Steumpel. Just depends on who else comes out for this team. They have potential to surprise teams.

Dixie - Solid in the middle with Tibbs. Started playing better at the end of the season last year.

Cooper - Should be pretty good. I believe their senior class won the freshman tournament when they were freshman.

Holmes (depends on how the transfer plays out)

Agreed!!! I think Conner's advantage will be the fact they have talented youth that is somewhat unknown to opponent's coaching staff!! Stamm has quite a few Aces up his sleeve with this team!! Will be a fun year to watch teams in 9th Region this year & see who steps up!!!

I think the most compelling thing about this upcoming season is how Cooper's new coaching staff comes in and what they can do with the players returning after a couple tough years for them.

Not bad that NewCath returns everyone from last year and you include Fr. Rachel McDonald (Drew's sister) with this bunch......YIKES.

Heard rumors that "returning everyone" may not be so true. Any insight on that one LB??

As with all girls sports who really knows, one day their playing the next they're not......:idunno:

Hell, I was just told about an hour ago Rachel McDonald is not playing basketball. I guess I'll just wait till the 1st game of the season to comment on the team from here on out.
