Scott 5 Bishop Brossart 2

Featured Replies

Scott threw the first punch early, Senior Pete Ohmer retiring Brossart's first 3 hitters, Reed Spata led the Eagles off with a deep fly ball to left resulting in a triple. It seemed like junior Mustang Nate Verst just couldn't catch a break tonight on the mound. He seemed to hit his spots but was just getting drilled all night.

Pete Ohmer goes 6 innings giving up 1 earned run. He also added a HR in the stat sheet. Hitting it on top of the concession stand at Campbell County High School. Probably a 335 ft. Shot.

Reed Spata had a nice play out at Short, ball was hit hard to his right making an off balance throw beating the runner by a half a step.

Kyle Kramer gets the save tonight.

Fun Fact: tonight there were no stolen bases. Tanner Norton and Kyle Kramer are two of the best catchers in the state.

Scott advances to play @Campbell County tomorrow at 5 P.M for the 37th district championship.

Reporting live from Spanish, Ontario, Canada:

Scott advances to Tuesday night;s 37th District Championship game vs Campbell County on the merits of a 5-2 win over Brossart in the Monday night semi-finals played at Campbell County High School.

Brossart starter Nate Verst was touched up for 3 runs in the first inning and was victimized by a Pete Ohmer home run with a teammate on board, later in the game.

Ohmer was the starter and winner for Scott, despite loading the bases with Mustangs in the top of the seventh while leading 5-1, requiring relief help from Kyle Kramer who struck out a pair of Mustangs, allowed a run on an error (Charged to Ohmer) and got Jon Geiman the final Mustang to face him to ground out to end the game. Geiman represented the tying run.

Ohmer allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while Nate Verst gave up 5 runs on 8 hits. Verst recorded 8 strike outs. Brossart closes out its rebuilding season at 9-20, while graduating one senior - Tanner Norton, who played the final game of his five year varsity career last night.

Looks like my boy Nater got touched up a little just like my boy Dunn did today. Nate and Hunter, all I got to say is it will be good to see you guys in the summer. That is not a norm for either one of you and just look at it as one of those days. Probably bias, but 2 of the most dominant pitchers in the area. See ya soon!!!

not that it matters......but...lol!! i believe brossart finished 10-19 beating silver grove was their 10th win.

good luck to all the teams in the area making the regional tournament.

Anytime you beat Nate Verst, you've earned the victory. Congrats to the Eagles on an outstanding win! Best of luck tomorrow night and next week.

Thanks, Riherds had the schedule as "incomplete."
