As far as Sarah, all of the above are correct. She coached girls bball at Walton Verona Middle for several years. She stepped down from the 8th grade position after the 11-12 season and did not coach this past season. From the one year my daughter played for her, here is what I gathered...great coach, LOTS of passion, loves things done right, and the girls liked to play for her. IMO, she would be an asset to her husbands staff.

I believe she works at Reds games in her summer evenings so that could be an issue. Coaching doesn't tend to pay what other jobs do.

A lot of people might think its more accurate to say "that he will be able to "KEEP" SHDHS going in the right direction. Coburn already had them going in the right direction.

St. Henry District High School is pleased to announce that Paul Sturgeon has agreed to be the next Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach for the Crusaders. The school received over twenty applications for the position and after a long interview process concluded that Coach Sturgeon would be the best person for the position.

 

Paul Sturgeon is a graduate of Lloyd High School and the University of Kentucky. He has spent the past ten years at Walton-Verona High School coaching the boys’ freshmen and junior varsity squads. Paul was also part of the coaching staff that won two All A Regional Champions and a 32nd District champion (the school’s first in 59 years). Paul resides in Union, KY with his wife, Sarah.

 

We would like to welcome Coach Sturgeon and his wife to the St. Henry Community. We are confident that Paul and the team will have many years of success in the future.
