Not sure why you leave your starter in, with a guy ready in the bullpen and allow the home team to score 4 in the bottom of the 7th. I don't have the stats but I would say it was your average mix. Dixie hit the ball well but there were some walks and errors mixed in for good measure.

As to your question about leaving Niehaus in the game my best guess is this. Dixie had 3 games in the Coach Connor Classic on Saturday, played Monday and have another game tonight. Pitching is probably stretched thin. The person you saw in the bullpen warming up may very well be the starting pitcher tonight and therefore Max didn't want to use him in Niehaus could finish.

The bullpen melt-down from the Boone Co game the night before, still fresh in the memory, may also have had something to do with the desicion. You can probably mark it up to a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" desicion. Luckily it worked out for the Red Colonels!

11-10 complete game win surely is an oddity... but as Old Bulldog says, a win over the Blue Colonels is always good for the Red Colonels.
