8th Grader Haley Meyers gets the start in the place of Sarah Neace who was sick today, however after walking the bases loaded to start the 7th, the Breds Taylor Burkart comes in and gets the next 3 batters in order to preserve the victory. Fr. Alexa Kehoe drives in what would become the winning run in the 5th with an RBI "frozen rope" single that just does catch the rightfield line. The Breds "D" was very good tonight, another game where they turn 2 double plays. Now on to the action!!

5/9 SOFT: NewCath holds off McAuley

After some very brief research I am going to go out on a limp and say this is the best win for a NKY team this season. I didn't check everyones schedule to see but I don't remember a team from this area beating a better team. IMO if McAuley was in NKY they would be the clear number 1 team. They have wins over CNE and Milford this year who would also be teams ranked #1 in NKY. McAuley lost to defending state runner up Lebannon 6-1 and they may have 6 or 7 D1 kids on their roster. Throw in the fact they were missing maybe their best pitcher and it makes it that much better.

 

Maybe Lawnboy's luck is changing.

Good win for NCC, I am going to credit it to the 3 and one half innings of practice you guys got on Wednesday. I have a friend who's daughter plays for McCauley, so I got to kid him a little about the Northern Kentucky domination.
