Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Beechwood? Remember, please be constructive.

Have they even found a basketball coach yet?

No. Not much to discuss until they hire the coach. That might take another month.

Beechwood will be young.

They lose 4 Seniors and only had 1 Junior on the roster this year. It may be another tough year in NKAC D2 after going 9-22 this year.

Considering they have both boys and girls open, they would want to try to get both hired soon.

I don't get the sense that girls or boys BB are a priority at BW. They love their football and baseball but basketball seems to be ignored.

If they aren't a priority, why would they bother to change coaches? If they didn't care, it would be a lot easier to let the status quo continue and not pay any attention, right? Then they could focus all their attention on football and baseball and not have to try and find new coaches.

You're much closer than I am. That's why I questioned the decision to fire either coach. Are we saying the previous coaches (not just the ones let go recently) did a poor job? If so, maybe the issue the folks doing the hiring. I've always looked at that success wasn't a pre-requisite at BW for basketball and it was a dead end job- they'd replace you in 3 or 4 years to make it look as though they were dedicated to winning on the hardwood.
