Not sure if you are new to the board but no one pays attention to Lawnboy so its all good. I would also be shocked if more than a couple of girls from the area check out the softball forum.

HAHAHA! Fortunately I was able to read through the typos This reschedule makes 6 games this week for us. Going to be a busy week! Good luck on your All A games....and against us too! lol

Don't think our head coach realized this week was the All A when he rescheduled.

Even new to the BGP on softball, in other sports teams will schedule games along with the All A games. I know in basketball that happens and if a team exits early then they are not trying to pick up games, for that week. This also makes it easier for teams to schedule those games with the agreement if they go deep into the All A tourney that it is agreed upon to cancel games with a clear understanding. So maybe your head coach was just doing what most do so there is not a long layoff?? IMO

Just giving my honest opinion.

Have seen St. Henry and NCC. Haven't seen HC so will go with a NCC vs St Henry final. I think its NCC bats against St Henrys pitching decides this game.

I think i'll do good this week. Cut the grass, change the oil, maybe a couple relaxing nights. Montgomery Inn. A decent week.

True, however Villa and Bellevue should be no problem for us to beat IMHO (no disrespect to either), thus giving us a game on Wednesday. Even if we lose on Wed. we would NOT be allowed to play on Thursday per KHSAA rules.

Yes. Each team at each level within a school and each studentathlete, shall have one day (Monday through Thursday) during

the season when school is in session, when the team does not hold a scrimmage or contest nor is the individual studentathlete competing or playing. This restriction applies to all levels of play not each level of play. The intent of the rule is that each student-athlete shall be guaranteed at least one night (Monday through Thursday) where participation in an interscholastic scrimmage or contest is not required, to allow for time to properly attend to academic pursuits and other priorities.

If we could make it all the way through and the so called favorites hold up we would have...Beechwood, Ludlow, NCC, and St Henry. I would say we have a 42.8% chance of winning the thing.

 

I am going to change Holy Cross % to 14.7...pitcher took a step back tonight, and our starting second baseman will more than likey be out for the week with a concussion from a soccer game over the weekend.. Holy Cross has no depth so one player missing can cause big problems.

I guess that I may not be a properly educated in this area, but didn't the original tread have to do with the Coach not factoring in the All A and the games to be played on Saturday? If I recall it was in response to how McNick cancelled a game because of an issue and a poster saying that he hopes they play and not cancel? I will have to go back and look, but the response I was making was for Saturday, I don't recall Thursday being a factor or even mentioned????

 

Any way, I assume that I didn't explain myself well, but my point was that coaches will schedule games during the All A in the rare event of an upset. I realize on paper that NCC should be the heavy favorite, but as with any game things do happen. Injuries, illness, suspensions..... are things that just cant be factored in, so as I stated games sometimes are scheduled as a precaution of the unforeseen. But again, where and how does Thursday factor into Saturday games?? Also isn't this a 3 team deal according to your info? with that being said, if for some reason things change it would allow a coach to cancel and still not effect the other schools that much. Worst case is that each team may lose a game or they could play each other in a double header or somehow the NCC team would play in any of the cases their are solutions. So my point still the same, the Coach was scheduling games in a RARE event issue of an early exit. As previously stated I would assume it is always easier to cancel a game rather than try to pick one up an in this case I think the coach did a great job of minimal impact to all.
