Worst Call I've Seen in Years!

Recommended Posts

St Henry playing Gallatin KY tonight. St Henry left fielder juggles a fly ball but clearly does not drop the ball. Two (2) umpires state that he dropped the ball. OMG!! How did two (2) High School umps miss this call? Are you kidding me? St H SS asked the field umpire about the situation, and he said "he didn't see it", but agreed with the call. Really? What the hell are you doing there? F'ing joke!

That's unacceptable!!

Was this play facing both ump's or running toward leftfield line?

Do you really think that two (2) umpires are supposed to be watching an outfielder catch a fly ball?? I don't know the situation (anyone on base, was the ball drifting toward a foul line, was the fielder on the run for the catch, etc.) Depending on the situation here, only one (1) umpire is supposed to be watching for the catch...not two (2). Obviously the one (1) that was watching it, saw it wrong and booted the call. The other one (1) can't over rule on it because he didn't see it because he was watching his other responsibilities. Now, missing a call like this is never good but it happens.

BTW, I don't know who the two (2) umpires were, but I doubt they were kidding with you!

It was just a bad miss by both/either ump. No one on, no outs, fairly easy pop fly to left fielder who moved a few yards toward center. Bobbled and then caught.

Then how in God's name did this call get missed? So the Ump's said the ball hit the ground?

If so these guys need to pay a visit to Dr. David Schnieder at the Laser Eye Center for some vision correction work. :jump:

In this situation, plate umpire has the catch/no catch. The base umpire is watching the batter/runner round first and wouldn't have been able to see this. Thus, he has no possible way of overruling the plate umpire because he can't call something he didn't see.
