Home OWNERSHIP is not a right. My Grandpa didn't own his house until he was 45. Before that, he rented.

It is called the American DREAM b/c it is something to strive for. It isn't just handed to you.

It's too bad we don't have any real life experience to determine how this may work out.

Oh. Wait.

I saw that comment at the bottom of the article. That was very well played.

Well said.

I think the initial sub prime collapse was the biggest reason as to where we are today. Someone needs to come up with a good definition of what the "American Dream" really is. I assume our ancestors would laugh at the notion that something like home ownership is seen as a right by some. I think the President's heart is in the right place, but misguided. I am hoping there is more to the story.

I'm not so sure about that.

Good quote's are why the copy and paste feature was invented.

How so? He wants a world in where home ownership is given to everyone. Or at least made more accessible. That sounds great in fantasy land, but it is not how it works. You are going to have to explain a little more. He is doing this to spark an economic collapse?

The dumbest thing about all these granted loans to those who don't need it is that they hurt those that really do. Before we purchased our home a few years ago we looked at these various avenues of securing loans. We did not qualify since we made X amount of dollars and credit was good. However, had we made less money with poor credit we would have been a better candidate. Something is not right about that. You tell people that are more apt to repay their debts "NO" but tell "YES" to those more prone to defaulting.

Do you really think that ObamaCare is about insuring the uninsured?

Please don't ask questions with other questions. If you don't have answer and it is just a hunch, then say so.

To actually answer your question I think it is in the same realm. The President's vision (misguided or not) is to give someone the "American Dream" in this case, or in ObamaCare to provide free health coverage to all as he believes it is a right (again, misguided or not with this idea) in an already corrupted system. We can discuss the merits of ObamaCare in another thread though. Let us stick to the Sub Prime debate here. :thumb:

I do think that he wants as many people as possible going to the Govt with their hand out.

Hey, I started the debate, LOL! All kidding aside, the President's intentions are part of the debate. The reason I originally answered a question with a question was to illustrate my contention that he is intentionally doing all he can to totally turn the "free market" on its head so folks will clamour for Govt to ride in and save the day, when in reality Govt created this mess from the very beginning. I am of the belief that nothing this President says or does is an accident.
