I would mostly agree with this..and I would add that the KKK's plan was to make their point by terror. I would agree that the founding principles "stated" by the Black Panthers were to protect blacks, but I and many believe their stronger intention was to promote Marxism. This is reason number 1 that they drew the interest of the government especially given this was during the cold war.

 

Other than that I agree that the groups are incomparable.

Their ties to Marxism didn't help their cause and ultimately played a part in their split. As for the bolded we'll just agree to disagree on that. The promotion of Marxism sounds like an awesome excuse to keep tabs on the Black Panthers. I'm sure it had nothing to do with black men arming themselves legally as part of their second amendments rights and encouraging other blacks to defend themselves when the police start illegally knocking heads.
