Anybody know how to get a boating license quickly. I'm gonna need one to get on my field. I've had enough!

 

This is my daughter's 6th year playing and this is the worse I can remember. With the cold temp's this week I would think today's rain will cancel our games until at least the weekend. Hopefully the BGH can get the Dixon family to have the fields ready for this weekend.

We have a road game Thursday and a home game Friday... both are in doubt, even if we had no more rain/snow coming.

Are Districts and Regional dates set in stone or can they be moved back if needed to get regular season games in?

The only games REQUIRED to be played are seeded district games. Even with that, I'm not totally sure of the answer.

This absolutely SUCKS!!!! I seriously doubt we will get a single game in this week also. Instead of having another practice in the gym, I think we would get more out of watching some of the college games I have DVR'ed.

 

I remember 2 years ago we had a bad string of rain and we only got 3 games in in a 17 day stretch.

I know one thing, the Panda camera never ventures out into the elements this time of year. Warmer and Drier is better. Cmon weather lords, give it up.

last year was pretty cold at beginning the season, but not much rain...year before that we had a lot of rain...DD played on freshmen team that year also, and they only got in 6 games for the season, and varsity ended up with 28 total games for the season (27 her first year in 2009)....in fact, in the 4 previous seasons she has played varsity, they've never played more than 4 regular games in March, and never started before March 20th, so this season will probably be the same...big difference with new coach over old, in this regard, is new coach has said "we will play our limit of games before districts". Last coach, would leave tournaments early for various reasons and didn't seem to mind that the season would end with under 30 games total, so I don't mind dropping a couple early, non district games...the season is packed with tough tournaments...they'll be made up.

You guys are lucky, I would bet our team hasn't made up 5 games in the last 5 years. I think we have only played in 1 or 2 in season tourney's. There are several schools around here that do a real nice job or trying to get all their games in, we have always ended the season in the low 20's. Last year was the most we have played bc the weather was great.

Game against Bellevue today CANCELED, however I call "shenanigans" AGAIN. :isurrender: Got a call shortly after noon saying the field was "unplayable", unbeknownst to Bellevue one of our parents took a stroll down to the field about 10:30 and only found a very small puddle of water, albeit in foul ground, that could have been swept away with a broom. Other than that if the field was dragged it would be ready at game time. I went down right after our practice and sure enough the small puddle was barely existent and if drug would have been playable. :banghead:

 

Who is making the desicions down there???? If it is the Public Works Dept. then I can understand since NewCath is in this boat with the City of Newport. They could care less about putting a little bit of extra effort into getting fields ready unless it's a "picture perfect" day.
