No I don't have any grapes sweet or sour with the kcc program i just think it's taking the easy way out when you always blame the refs i mean you said it yourself kcc led for how long and then all this hype about one boy having a bad nite and having being guarded by two who were the two.. let's be honest and take it with real sportsmanship like a good team should which is admit they lost and why. I agree with you on the boys playing well that's why i said it was the coaches fault because a good coach woulda shut #10 down , a good coach would use the heigth on his team and teach them how to rebound, a good coach WOULD NOT I repeat WOULD NOT put an 8th grade boy on the team and expect his sophomores, juniors, and seniors, to worship him as their hero or their ALL STAR which he is far from. but no not at all do i have sour grapes just an opinion .... :dancingpa

And what an interesting opinion it is. Do you really think that KCC is the first or the only team to play an 8th grader on their varsity team? Why don't you start a thread asking state wide how many teams have or have had in the past, an 8th grader on their varsity team?

I agree the Stamper kid is not KCC's hero or their all star, but from all I've seen and heard, he does earn his playing time. I'm willing to bet that there isn't a high school team in the moutains who wouldn't welcome him to their team next year. He should not be denied his due credit just because he is an 8th grader. That's what is happening at JBS. By far, the Cox boy is the best player on that team, but he is left in the shadows because he is an 8th grader. A good player should be recognized for what he does regardless of what grade he is in.

I did make the KCC/PCC game last night. I agree with you that PCC deserves credit for winning the game, and that the officials played no part in the outcome. Last night the PCC team was just the better team. And for some reason the Patriots just can't put together a second half that equals their first. This has been true all season. I also agree with you that it's the coaches responsibility to find out what is breaking down with his team so that he can fix it. But I certainly do not agree that the 8th grader cost them the game or was any more of the problem than anyone else on the team. The 8th grader played the first half when the team maintained a comfortable lead. I also want to say that the Patriots looked better last night than I've seen them look in a while. They are playing better team ball, passing the ball and looking for the open man, than they have all year. Bartrum and Pike have made leaps and bounds the past few weeks in scoring and assisting and rebounding. And of course, the Mosley boy continues to be, in my opinion, one of the better players in the region. I think if this same team had played PCC a few weeks ago, PCC would have beat them much worse than they did last night. KCC is improving and I think they will continue to improve. I don't think they will be a contender for the region, and probably no even the district. Still they should hold their heads high. They have had a season riddled with injuries and conflict. There is no way that a team can grow and flourish in an environment like that.

I have watched the Stamper kid play and I think he is very composed for an 8th grader. He has stayed back so I suppose he is 15. I think he has a bright future and I am sure there are alot of 14th region coaches who would like to have him for 4 years. He seems to me to look to pass first and is not afraid to take the shot if he is open. This is just an unbiased opinion...

Thats because Knott had 2 people on him every time he touched the ball. This is the same Knott team who held Gilbert to 13.

Did they really? I remember how great it was when KCC held Gilbert to just 13, everyone use that as fuel as of why he shouldn;t be the number one player. Not so fun when it is the other way around is it? Maybe he needs to b gaurded by 3. I have seen a player have that happen this year.

I don't know where this thread turned into such an argumental issue I was commenting on bleed blue's thread when he was trying to say it was easy to see why the patriots lost which made the commodores look bad as in they didn't earn their victory which they did indeed. The refs had nothing to do with the win or the loose that was my opinion on the comment I have no problem with an 8th grader playing for anyone or any problem with the patriots and i agree with you on everything i just don't think anyone should try to use excuses like refs as their excuse for loosing i think the truth should stand and the truth as i seen it was bad coaching on kcc's part that's all i'm saying but we all have our opinions and that was mine. I could actually care less who the patriots have on their team and how it's run but when a team like the commodores came back the second half and won the game i think we should have more credit than what we got ....GO COMMODORES........

SOUR - Definitely sour!! I did not blame the refs and I did not say that anyone had a bad night. Read MY post.

I believe that this thread was about the KCC - PCC game. It was not intended for a personal attack on Coach Feltner, an eighth grader, Lindon, Bates, Bartum or Mosley. Congratulations PCC for a great comeback. Good luck Patriots against Breathitt. Keep up the good work.[/quote tru blu i never said you did blame or attack anyone. i was commenting on bleed blue's thread not yours, and i definitely was not attacking anyone from kcc, all i said was it was not plain to see that the refs were cheating for the commodores because that is not at all why kcc lost, the commodores were down the first half and stood strong and came back and won,the patriots done really great the first half but i said in my opinion kcc had bad coaching the second half that is why they lost i said nothing towards the players other than how (in my opinion) he (the coach that is) made bad choices last nite but all that matters is the commodores won sorry for the patriots they played great ball the first half and good luck to them all.

Funny cause I didn't see that at all. What I seen was bad coaching on Kcc's part. Why didn't they shut #10 down cuz he was burnin 3's all nite long.and why does he keep that 8th grader on the court slangin his arm off at anything noing he ain't gonna make em.(what is it with him and that team i mean all the hype goin on bout him aint at all been proven true he probably is a good grade school player but big difference when you play high school ball with the bigger dogs-don't you agree) and further more why doesn't kcc play defense i mean a little pressure would help and last but not least I don't understand with kcc is they have boys with heighth like Bartrum, Bates, Lindon but yet they can't rebound so how is it plain to see who suppose to win with freethrows cause Mosley shot 2 freethrows, Lindon shot 2, and didn't that 8th grader shoot 2 I mean let's face it PCC seen what they needed to do and done it so it's fair to say PCC played good ball and has a real good team.and alot better coach.

What did Kcc do to you pitino man, Do you attend each practice? i think feltners done a fantastic job with knott county.

I never meant to blame the refs i never meant they was just comletely trying to cheat the pats out, all i was meaning was its hard to win a ball game when you only shoot 2 freethrows and the other team shoots 19. I mean good win for the commodores. Knott is improving every game even through all the adversity they have been trhough i believe they could make some nosi come tournament time.

Your coach has done nothing to me I don't even know him or your players, I just didn't think it was fair to insinuate that PCC used refs to help them win. To me that isn't saying much for the boys who worked hard to come back the second half and win the game. I watched the game and I said in my opinion it was bad coaching regardless of who he was he made bad choices for his team. But nothing at all towards your coach or a Patriot player or a fan. I think teams look better when they accept they lost and try a little harder the next time not go and trash the team with insinuations and things like they had help in order to win. But your team played really well especially the first half but our team played better especially the second half don't you think that was what was plain to see....

I'm not saying that was just all an all trying to cheat the pats out but sure is hard to win like that no excuses, the patriots jsut have to keep improving every day like they have been and they will be hard to beat.

You could plainly see who was suppose to win this game i mean come on Kcc only shot two free throws the entire game ...good effort by the pats. Cant wait to see the outcome when the dores come rollin in to The Complex.

You are right you could plainly see who was suppose to win this game....The better team.I knew it was coming! I can't wait until PCC travels to Knott either!! :fire:

Perhaps you weren't watching the same game as BLEED BLUE?? It sounds like someone has some sour grapes with the KCC program. What the majority of the KCC fans saw is a TEAM that is finally showing what it is capable of. They are now playing as a team and will prove to be a dominant force in both the district and region come tournament time. MANY spectators on both KCC and PCC's side were extremely impressed with the play of KCC especially since KCC led in double digits during the first half. Congratulations KCC on playing with confidence and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP! Oh, by the way, Bartrum, Bates, Lindon, Mosley and the 8th grader played very well especially since most posts on here stated that they would lose in double digits. Guess what? They represented KCC very well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!

If blowing a 15 point lead and only scoring 25 points in the second half is is what they are capable of then keep it up KCC.Knott played well for a 6-8 minute stretch in the 1st half and that is it. :fire:

no michael lindon only shot 2 free throws that was it and the 8th grader was getting held ever postion no wonder why he was having some what of a off night. PCC shot 19 free throws thats alittle onesided don't you think.

That is usually what happens when one team (PCC) control the offensive boards and looks inside and another team settles for jump shots! :fire:

Why hasnt Commodore4life posted on this one? I seen that his number one player in the region seemed to have a real off night.

Thats the great thing about PCC, our great player can have an off night and we still win, everyone else star player can score 40+ and they loose BIG! :fire:
