8 20-Win Teams In KY

Featured Replies

Any time you have 3 20 win teams in the region I'd think it would be great for the region. With that said, it's hard to overlook the schedules of those teams. Hard to rate them when they are an unknown vs. other quality opponents. Holmes is undefeated, yet it's hard not to deny the unknown factor about them, agree?

My daughter went to Murray State University and whether you know it or not MSU is as far away from my home in NKy, as Chicago, Ill is!

Funny, I live 8.1 miles from Cincinnati Withrow but 318 miles from Murray HS, or just a couple of miles a little closer to Marshall County HS and yes I have seen both schools in our visits to Murray, now which of the three school do you think we in Nky should play?

Depends on what you schooll budget is or will allow you to do. I think regardless of who play who and where. The only thing that matters is when the two schools face off what is that final outcome. So CCH and Cooper and Holy Cross have play a much harder schedule than HHS but when the respected schools played who won? You would thing that CCH schedule and Dixies Schedule who have prepared them to for the Bulldogs after all the Dawgs schedule is weaker but the fact remains is there is only one undefeated school in Ky.

Let's all take a minute and give Unspoken what he/she is looking for.

HOLMES is the best team in NKY right now.

Is that good?

Now back to the purpose of the thread.

Huh! Where in the world did you get any of your comment out of my post?

My post in the thread to a comment of spindoc!

Not when you responded that the poster above was off the thread topic. I'm not sure how all of this doesn't tie together.

At risk of offending you, why don't you have your coaches schedule Ballard, or Trinity, or Bullitt East, or Mad. Central, or one of those? Schedule them and we will have a measuring stick. If travel is an issue, do a home and away. 2 year deal. It's not rocket science. You will still no doubt bang the drum for their record, which is quite good at CCH, or Holmes, or NewCath. Simply saying that if you get out and play some of the top tier teams in the state you'll get respect. Or you can travel your 8.1 miles and stand pat. But don't cry when someone challenges you about the strength of your schedule if you're satisfied with your opponents.

Your comment proves to me you know little or nothing about CovCath and thus NKy basketball. Maybe just maybe you could pretend a little better!

BTW we do play and have played Madison Central for the past couple of years in fact!

BTW while your there look at the schedule that CovCath has played over the years, maybe it will educate you!

So just keep on pretending you know basketball in and around NKy, I and others know better!

Not when you responded that the poster above was off the thread topic. I'm not sure how all of this doesn't tie together.

A few , including said poster, are arguing that while their schedule might not be deemed as strong as others in the 9th, the Dogs have indeed beaten teams like CCH.

Debate thread seems to be about what that tells us about the 9th, right? So Holmes beating other 9th teams is truly immaterial. It may even say that if Holmes played a tougher schedule they might not have 20 wins and be part of what appears to be an exclusive club.

So his point is indeed interesting but altogether irrelevant.

We all know Holmes is the best in the region as of right now.

Let's all take a minute and give Unspoken what he/she is looking for.

That not what i was looking for but thanks for the sarcasim. I was just stating fact. This thread really had no purpose to begin with if so you didnt clearify it good enough. I originally responde be cause someone was talking strength of schedule in highschool sport LIKE IT REALLY MATTER? Thats all: It doesnt matter who you schedule because at some point when you play someone has to win point blank simple as that. Case in point for Highlands football (wait for it........) it doesnt matte who they schedule at the end of the Day they will be in the running to win state. It about how you untilize your talent and the Kids as well as how you run you programs. Holmes may be the only school in NKY playing with second tier guys mean the best talent at that school may not even be on the floor or on the team.

Best wishes to all be safe. I am done with this thread.

We aren't talking about other years. To date, this season, the one we are talking about Cov Cath nor Holmes has played an outstanding schedule. I know exactly who CC plays, I wouldn't make this argument if I didn't. And for the record, you don't know me at all. You have no idea what I do or don't know about basketball in NKY or any other part of the state for the record. So, let's pretend you're right, I'm clueless because I don't think NKY basketball rates with Louisville or Lexington, and I'll play that game with you. I say kudos for CC scheduling them. Then, thank God, we will have something to compare them with. And I pray for your general state of mind that CovCath has a good showing.

You are 100% correct that in the end it does not matter.

If we only posted threads that "matter" we'd have a skinny message board.

I'll ignore your crazy statement about those guys being "second tier."

I suppose I follow, but frankly I see his point to a degree, and either way, I'm looking forward to the outcome of Holmes and NewCath.

His point is that despite Holmes lack of a "tough" schedule they have beaten teams with better schedules. Since no one is arguing Holmes is #1 in the 9th it's irrelevant.

The point of the thread is simple. Does the fact that there are 3 20-win teams say the 9th is really good or does it say it's average? It's right up your alley.

We aren't talking about other years. To date, this season, the one we are talking about Cov Cath nor Holmes has played an outstanding schedule. Funny how you try to back away from your original post....to bad for you, it's still on the thread.

Below is your original comment! Note how you ask why doesn't CovCath Coaches schedule Mad Central and some other schools!

At risk of offending you, why don't you have your coaches schedule Ballard, or Trinity, or Bullitt East, or Mad. Central, or one of those?

Then after I am sure you looked at the CovCath schedule then you stated the above in your post, To date, this season, the one we are talking about.

Makes you look rather silly!
