-Is this a lifetime retirement, or is he just leaving coaching for awhile?

 

-What direction does Fort Campbell go from here? Does their being affiliated with the military affect who they hire? Would they be more likely to hire an out-of-state coach, or would a Kentucky/Tennessee coach have a realistic shot?

 

Pretty sure Shawn is in his 30's. My source says this is probably temporary in terms of coaching (but who knows). I think with them being military it limits the pool. Due to different retirement systems there are folks who may not go for it with so much on the line. They could hire whatever they like with them being DOD.

Family. Due to coaching and all that it entails, Shawn missed much of his older daughter's life. His youngest daughter is very active in sports and he didn't want to miss it.

 

He's still going to be teaching at the school, he's not walking away from that.
