would President Obama get re-elected for a third term?

Depends on who ran and if the republicans drop the ball for the third consecutive time.

but as it stands today would he win? Any republican you see that could beat him?

Right this minute, I'd give Chris Christie a serious looksee. I think he has the greatest potential right now. He's wholly unafraid to to take his own party task, and that would appeal to a lot of people who voted for Obama because Romney wasn't palatable in any way shape or form.

Chris Christie for sure.

I know Rand Paul isn't a republican but a little sense, some money and hardcore campaigning and he could be a threat also IMO.

IMO if the limit went away The President would not get his own parties nomination.

I think it's too early in his second term to determine. I think we'll need to see what happens in the interim.

I love Chris Christie. I'm serious. If he had been running against Obama, I most likely would have voted for him, as long as he didn't run on the single premise of overturning AHCA in it's entirety. He may be a Republican, but he isn't afraid to buck his party. I think he presents a breath of fresh air in politics.

After listening to Bobby Jindal's words today, I think Chris Christie best fits the profile of what Jindal set forth for the next Republican candidate.

Chris Christie for sure.

He'd have to come off his Tea Party platform....way off...to appeal to the masses.

You just said in another thread someone was too extreme. Yet that same person has been the only republican to actually and legitimately take on his party on their biggest issues.

That said, what has Christie challanged his party on?

Bill would beat the President in a run away. I'm not a Clinton fan but he may be the best politician of the last 50 years, maybe ever.

What parts of it are you against?

Christie isn't extreme. He's tough, but not extreme or obstructionist.

Rand Paul voted agaist funding for Hurricane Sandy victims because of his objection to the tax bill. Christie challenged his party on that.

Pretty much all of the social issues, and some of the enviornmental and foreign policy. Wanting to end social security, get rid of EPA, Ed, etc. The platform as a whole is too "harsh". it takes too much away, and doesn't account for the realities of a lot of Americans.

I "heart" Bill Clinton. :D He'd beat anyone, just about.

Again, majority of the GOP voted for that bill. That isn't taking your party to task. Rand did not vote for it, correct. Why? Because Congress disgustingly used the bill as a way to load it with pork. wasteful spending. Rand Paul:"$700,000 is going to continue that performance art festival in New York and I think it’s inexcusable to throw that type of stuff into disaster relief."

This is the type of stuff congress needs to stop. So yes, when someone tries to stop a tradition in spending done by congress, it may be called extreme.
